The VR6 is a fast little car. But I'd put my money on the BMW, especially if the race involved corners. BMW handling is legendary.

In everything by far. The BMW was a $25000+ car back then, the Jetta was around $12000. The BMW has a stronger engine and everything.

I have a '98 Jetta GLX, I've never had a problem with the engine, everything is standard and the VR6 still runs strong.

Yes it will beat the Jetta provided everything is stock on both cars. Check European Car Magazine for specifics.
