I'm replacing factory speakers and I was looking for a good deal on some great sounding, crisp, clear speakers for listening to mostly acoustic music (no heavy bass needed). I was thinking Memphis

I have a harness for the hookup of the cd player, I hooked it up to the silver box behind the factory radio like I was told by Soundafex, but I can't get any power to the cd player, the original factory radio still works while the cd player is installed, so the fuse is not blown, what could be wrong?

i have DK2-1000 watt amp i keep blowing the fuses on the amp, i bought a new car battery that is 850 cold cranking amps instead of 650. my fuses didnt blow for a couple hours but then the battery drained and the fuses blew (volt meter on dash would drop to like 10) so my theory is that if the battery drains the alternator sends power directly to what needs it (my amp) blowing my fuses. the alternator should be 80A output. I am running 8 gauge ground wire and 4 gauge power wire to my amp. do you think the 8 gauge wire is to small and not letting enough power flow back to the battery?

I have two nice sets of 6.5 componets. On the box it says 4ohms so I am assuming that is the load present at the crossover??

Each set handles 200/w rms and I have a 2 channel 800/w rms amp.

I will need to put a 2ohm load to each channel on the amp. So I will have to wire two 4ohm speakers down to two ohms, can someone tell me wich type of wiring to do.

I am a bit rusty since my last system install and I appreciate the help!!

i was hittin some great sound with the mtx's but since ive replaced them im afraid the place that installed all of this has wired my premier 12's for 4 ohm instead of 2 ohm. why did they do that? Also is there a way to get these mired back to 2 ohm, because they seemed alot more vivrant wired that way. Anyway whats the difference?

Ok heres another... Does the strand count in a battery cable affect the amount of current and voltage it can supply? If you had a 8 gauge wire with 1000 strands and a 4 gauge with 900 which would be a better choice and why?

I lost bass from my sub then I noticed my 6x9's didn't seem to have enough bass either. This system used to thump. I switch identical amps and same results. 6x9's sound muffled in the low range and they don't sound as loud. you can see woofer vibrate and its hard as a rock to push by hand. but it has lost that deep bass. sounds more like I hear highs and voices more coming from it. wasn't doing that before. woofer is sealed tight with some sort of black sealant. can't take it apart unless I plan to replace. How do I test these speakers and sub to determine if they are blown!

I am renting a 26' u-haul truck for a 3000 mile move to Canada from San Antonio. It will be just me and my two dogs. BORING!!! I am used to an awesome sterio in my truck - which I sold. What's the best, fastest, cheapest way to listen to my music. I don't want to do headphones - dangerous when driving. I also want to listen to the radio at times. There is only a radio in the U Haul. Thanks.

They aren't stock, they aren't subs, but give off alot of bass. 85% of the time they don't work (only the front speakers work), but once and a while they'll turn on randomly and work fine for anywhere from a few minutes to until I finish driving. What's wrong?

Does anyone know what kind of amp I should buy for a single 8" sub for my car? I would rather get a lot of sound from a small single sub rather than my 2 crappy unidentical 12" subs in homemade boxes to save space. I want to spend about $100-200 (if possible). Do mono amps work best? I don't even know the difference between monos and 2/4 channels, but I want to get every watt out the sub to get my moneys worth. The 8" isn't the greatest- I bought it at Checkers Auto parts for $15 but the magnet looks somewhat big for the money- about 6-7" Let me know if this a bad idea to even use this sub, but I don't want to buy a whole system. I'm kind of working with the scraps I have, but I can buy better if need be. Any suggestions? thanks!!
