Ideally, to get max output from it you'd need 2000watts, rms.

A 1 channel(mono, or class d) amp, 2000watts rms x 1@1Ohm, then hook each +(2) from the speaker to the + on the amp, same for -.
Or you could get a 2 channel amp (class a, b, or ab) amp, 1000watts rms x 2@2Ohms, then hook 1 + from speaker to 1 + on amp, the other + from speaker to the other + on amp. Same for -'s. -Use 1 voice coil on each side-.

You could get away with a 1 ch., 1000watt rms x 1(@1Ohm)amp. Or a 2 ch., 500watt rms x 2(@2Ohms).

Brand name really does not matter. Just make sure the amp you get is CEA-compliant, that way it puts out what it says. Alot of amp manufacturers lie about ratings.

You'll need at least a 4g wiring kit for the 1000watt rms amp. 2g may be needed if you do get the 2000watt rms amp. Also use at least 10g speaker wire.

Good Luck!

you can run the wires so the sub will run at 1ohm and get a 1ohm stable amp. you can run this http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16370 hifonics is a good brand and that pushes 2000rms at 1ohm. thats just 1 option there are a lot more amps you could go with. just get 1 1ohm stable pushing at least over 1500watts rms
