i have a deck, bought new speakers and would like to continue by adding subwoofers to my ride next. but i don't know if I should get anything else first. I don't have the money to buy everything at once and am kinda piecing together a sick system one thing at a time. i really want some slap in the trunk, but if anyone can list what you need like step-by-step that would be much appreciated. thanks

I know 2 8ohm subs in parallel will produce a 4 ohm load, but i was told the amp will see half of your speaker load. So, would the amp be operating at a 2 ohm load?

I recently blew the fuse and the only way for the radio to work is if I fix the fuse, the fuse that is blown is the amp's fuse. I dont know if I should attempt this myself because the passenger airbag is located in front of the amp (the amp is in the dashboard obviously) or is this something that a professional audio installer would have to do? Thanks in advance!

I just ordered a brand new 2007 Saturn Sky Redline with the monsoon stereo system stock, but I just can't get away from some hard bass. I just wanted to ask what kind of setup (Speaker+Amp) can I get that will satisfy me for some hard bass but not overly expensive. Mainly 1 speaker and 1 amp, the Highs are already amazing. The trunk is very small and if anyone who owns a Sky and has a system set up, please comment. My price range for this lil guy would be $250-$450.
Thanks in advance!

It is a 250w 12 channel amp. The car is a 2000 Volkswagen beetle. I can't seem to run the power wire through the firewall of the car from the battery to the amp, so I'm wondering why I can't use the 12V plug-in for power. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I finally got my ride almost where I want to be! However I think I might be having buyers remorse, but i haven't installed my amps yet! I was wanting to know since I am doing a 2 amp configuration! I have currenty in the box the Rockford Fosgate t400-4 which is for my front components and rears, and T1500 for my 2 /12" Rockford subwoofers! Keep in mind I haven't put this in yet! However this Alpine series the PDX has got me really intrigued the 4.150 which is 100 watts continuous power at 4 or 2ohm, where as my Rockford Fosgate is only 60 at 4 ohm! Then they have the Alpine PDX1.1000 for the mono which is 1000 continuous watts! I think my Rockford Fosgate breaks down like this T1500continuous power:
500W x 1 @ 4-Ohms RMS
1000W x 1 @ 2-Ohms RMS
1500W x 1 @ 1-Ohm RMS
So did I make a bad or good decsion by listening to the car audio people! I hear the PDX amplifiers get hot, but they put out so much power it seems for soemthing so small! Or am I simply underestimating Rockford?

I have a blown right-rear 6x9 speaker in my car and have asked many different store "specialists" what to do. No one seems to want to work on Monsoon systems. I have NO desire to spend the kind of money needed to replace both the speakers, head unit, and amp. I just want to pick-up a good pair of 6x9's and replace the speakers. I know very little about car audio install and replacement, but any sort of help would be awesome, diagrams, web-links, pdf. file......anything. Thanks!!

I talked to the company who made the wire harness and they said that a capacitor isn't what i needed to solve this problem, can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks

I have a sound system that consists of a 4 ch and a mono block. the problem is my old 4 ch had 2 RCA inputs and a RCA output. now this new 4 ch only has 2 RCA inputs. my deck only has 1 set of pre-amp outputs so originally i had to split the RCA to cover only 2 sets, now i have to find a way to do that but for 3 RCA inputs. now i don't want to spend hundreds on an EQ or crossover. is there anyway around this? can i buy another pair of splitters and split one RCA cable to cover 2 more ch? Also i have tried to locate a EQ all over the car and i have grounded it in many different places, and moved the power wire around, and it still comes up with road noise. without it there is no road noise. any suggestions?

I want to buy an amp that can put out at least 500 watts rms to only one sub for trunk room (i have a 4-8 ohm 12"sub). What would be the difference between a mono or 2 channel? If I can bridge the 2 channel, is that better?

I bought (stole) an amp from my buddy for a loan he would not pay back. I have heard this thing can pump out about 900 watts, but it's only a 100 watt amp. How do I get it to deliver all those watts hidden inside? The amp is an Orion 250 HCCA. There are no speaker terminals on this one.

I currently own the PowerAcoustik 1920 watt amp ( http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6195_Power+Acoustik+TS1920-2.html ). I was running two Audiobahn subs with 550 rms power handling to them, but the subs are starting to pop everytime the bass hits. So I am going to change subs. I am wondering how ell my current amp will go along with two Audiobahn AW1200V subs ( http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7039_Audiobahn+AW1200V.html ). If i get those subs then i will put them each in a 3.3 cubic feet vented box. I guess my real question is concerning if i have enough power from my amp (rms wise) to push these subs and make them sound good.
