what parts of dash need to be removed

can anyone tell me about c.b radio...is there special lingo for it?,how do you use it ?.who do you talk to?..ive just bought a c.b for my mini and i dont know how to use it...can anyone give me some ideas...oh and one more thing....do i need a handle?

i am installing a new amp to a factory radio, the amp is a mtx thunder with high level inputs, the guys at circuit city say i should buy a 40 converter and install 100 bucks worth of rca cable cant i just use the high level inputs with speaker wire? does it make that big a dif?

What exactly is gain, I have 3 amps and none of them have gain knobs or switches. I think its pretty important because whenever poeple talk about why subs got blown, they usually also talk about improper gain settings so I think its probably important. How do I set gain?

I installed new Boston Acoustic speakers in my Civic in the back, and they sound horrible. The factory speakers were much better - better clarity, louder, more bass. Did I do something wrong?

FYI - I'm using the stock receiver.

Im looking to buy new subs and i have narrowed my choice down to a couple subs and i would really apperciate any help and suggestions i can get. I am basically looking for the loudest subs with decent SQ The amp i will be running the subs from is a Hifonics BXi1606D specs:
-1 X 550W @ 4 OHMS
-1 X 1100W @ 2 OHMS
-1 X 1600W @ 1 OHM

Now the subs im looking at are
2 12" Alpine Type R's I dont know which is better 2 or 4ohms?
2 12" Kicker CVX's
2 12" PIONEER PREMIER TS-W3004SPL

Any suggestions will be greatly apperciated.

Im going to be installing 2 kicker compvr with a kicker zx1000.1 amp and was just wondering if a capacitor would be needed or would I be able to just run it off the stock battery. I hope getting just a capacitor will do the job.

I wanted to know if it's possible to bridge a kenwood kac8152d car amplifier for more power.What is the best way to have it connected.I have my kenwood amp thumping on two 12" kicker's and i have the speakers facing in to the car,will it sound better if i flip 'em and face the front of the speakers to the back of the car.

I Buying 3 Audiobahn AW1200V's and a Kicker zx.750.1 mono block amp and for my door speakers i have all audiobahn: AS69V and AS64PV so what would kind of amp would i need for my bass not to drown out my door speakers and tweeters?

I have a Pioneer DEH7800MP head unit running four pioneer premeir 6x8 door speakers. And power acoustik amp running 900 rms through two 12" audiobahn subs in vented boxes. I have really good highs and really good lows, but i am missing alot of mid bass from my music. What can I do to get some mid bass in my car. I have a spare 300watt(150rms) amp that I can use for either my door speaker, two of them at least since my amp is 50rmsx2 at 4ohms. Should i amp my door speakers to get my mid bass or should i invest in a mid bass driver. If i get a mid bass driver i have nop problem finding room for it, i just need to know if it would be a good decsion to get. What brands of mid bass drivers would you reccomend. I have two 12 kicker comps
300 watt peak

what amp would best suit them and im on a budget i cant really afford anything of 150

I have a Honda Accord (97 I think - not sure) and my CD player is currently a 12 disc changer. The problem is that it's basically broken and all 12 of my CDs in there are stuck, and the fact that the box where you insert the discs is in the trunk makes it much more of a huge pain.

Anyway, how much would it cost to at least get the CDs out of that box and get, at the very least, a normal cd player in the front of the car? And where do I get it done at? I would love for them to take out the whole 12-disc changer, but if it's gonna cost more, I'd rather them leave it there and just install the new one. I'm not sure how these things work so please be understanding. I have almost no knowledge about cars.

So basically that's just what I want to do, get a CD player that actually works for my car, and get my CDs out of that broken CD changer in the trunk, and if it's not gonna cost anything, I'd like it removed, but if it is, I'd rather leave it there broken.

i no that the rms os the sub(s) should add up to the amps value but wut about peak power? do to subs have to equal that too?

like for example i got a 1200 watt amp( peak power) runnin at 200 x 2 omhs for 2 subs with rms each of 200. does the peak power of each need to be 600, 600 +600= 1200? or do i ignore peak power and stick with the rms equaling the amp?

Im looking to get a different box than the usual boring carpeted box, i was looking at bandpass because i like the window look. But i heard that the bandpass box limits the clarity of the subwooders inside. Ill be running 2 Kenwood 12" subwoofers.

Im not stuck on bandpass but i just dont want the carpeted look anymore ( also i heard ported was better than non-ported, bandpass usually has that)

I have a 1992 toyota previa i was wondering how to take out the stock radio/cassete player im trying to install a new cd player but cant quite figure out how to take out the radio ive tried but im afraid im going to take out more than i need can some one give me a link to where i can find out how this is done or perhaps someone has done this before and can explain it? thx.

I have Tried putting it in valet mode. I open the switch to on position and press the valet switch for five seconds until the light comes on and then try to start the car and it wont start. Also tried disconnecting all the cables from the module and it wont do anything. Car is cranking all the lights on the dashboard comes on but it wont start. Please help

I want to upgrade and get a new amp to run in conjunction with my old one.

What I need to know is if there are any problems with running a 4 guage wire along side an 8 guage wire as long as i stay away from the signal cables?

Also, can I splice my remote wire to 2 amplifiers?

Last, is there any problem with using the same grounding point (touch the two grounds from 2 amps) with 2 amps?

Please don't tell me to get a distibution block because one of the wires is already run and that amp works fine. Just want another amp for the subs.

i check all my wire and they are all good.. im runing 4 g wire to verythin even my cap .... but everyime it have my vol at 25 my fuse blow an my bass on my deck is off... whats is going on i have blowen 3 amps before i got tis one i have a 760 watts amp an 2 12 tha are 800 watts each in a bandpass box

I have the button where my radio is that says "CD" but it says "No DJ" cause I don't have a CD player in my car. I think in the trunk there is a spot where a CD player used to be but I'm not sure if it was taken out. Can someone please help with installing one or putting one back in?
