Im looking to get a different box than the usual boring carpeted box, i was looking at bandpass because i like the window look. But i heard that the bandpass box limits the clarity of the subwooders inside. Ill be running 2 Kenwood 12" subwoofers.

Im not stuck on bandpass but i just dont want the carpeted look anymore ( also i heard ported was better than non-ported, bandpass usually has that)

A bandpass is nothing more than a sealed box and a ported box in one. This also make them the largest of the three.

Additionally, a window can be in any enclosure.

The positives are that the box has a certain frequency where it bangs like no other. This makes the boxes good for rap or beat music. The problems are that the range where the box is loud is smaller than the area where sealed boxes are loud. Also, not all woofers will work with all bandpass boxes so make sure that you talk to someone, not really sure who. Good luck.

Once upon a time.....

One of my friends has a bandpass box with 2 10's

I sat in his car as he turned the radio on, and the bass up.

I heard some bass, but i heard more of the rattling and cracking of the plexiglass shaking all around from the vibrations.

It sounded like his car was falling apart but it was actually his box's window.

TRUE STORY!!!!

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

you want a window buid any box and replace one side wood panel with plexyglass

you can not buy a generic plexiglass bandpass box for your speaker
the box needs to be made using the woofer specs

if u want something different go with a fiberglass enclosure. u can get a 2 sub box for around 200 on ebay, or can find a car audio shop in ur area that makes them and have it custom made to ur design. u can also paint them any color and have spots for amps put in

heres an example of a basic fiberglass box
