The easiest way is to hook into the same power lead as the radio, that way it will turn on and off with the ignition key.

If your factory deck has line level outputs, you can add an after-market amplifier. You might need to get an installation kit that has the correct connectors for your vehicle. When you install an amplifier most have a hot wire that goes to a switched (on and off with the key) terminal on the fuse panel. Connecting this wire correctly will turn off the device when you turn off the vehicle. Let me know if I can help, further.

an amplifier has two power connections. one is connected to the battery for a permanent power source. The other "remote" wire is connected to the fuse panel into one of the fuses that only comes on when you turn the key on like the radio or power windows or something like that. The proper way is to connect it into one of the unused spots on the fuse panel. As long as the remote wire gets power when the key is turned on, the amp will work correctly.
