When the volume is at low levels, the sub will cut out. When the volume is turned up, the sub turns back on. Any ideas?

Could it be a poor ground? Or is the amp most likely shot?

Since the sub works at higher volumes, it is likely that the subwoofer is not the problem, correct?

Thanks

I'm currently using an Alpine SWE-1042, but it needs to be replaced. My amp, MTX Thunder 4202 (specs: http://www.epinions.com/614168_MTX_Audio_50W_x_2_Thunder_4202/display_~full_specs ) I don't know much about this sort of stuff (the current car audio setup I have I bought as a unit ), but as best as I can tell these are compatible and would suit my needs without breaking my wallet. Basically, I'm looking for something that costs no more than $100 as I just want a clean sound but doesn't necessarily have to have a lot of kick to it. 1) Rockford Fosgate P210D4 (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=4&series_id=31&family_id=10&item_id=104323&locale=en_US&p_status )
2) Panasonic CJ-SW2503 (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-CJ-SW2503-10-Inch-300-Watt-Subwoofer/dp/B000ENPXFK ) The latter has 1300 RMS, would this be compatible with my amp since it's only 750? What would be other options? THANKS!!

Today i was kinda tinkering with my truck that i jus bought. It already had a pioneer deh-p3600 and speakers hooked up to it but the speakers were kinda messed up they jus didnt sound good. So i took the headunit out and started messing around. I had a bazooka tube from a previous car so i decided to hook it up. I had everything going then the sound jus stopped. I checked all the wires and everything was connected but no sound. I changed speakers jus to see if they were blown but it was the same with 7 different speakers. When i hook up the bazooka i have to turn the sound all the way up and i can still barely hear it. I cant hear anything from the regular speakers. Whats wrong? I think the wiring harness that came with the pioneer headunit is messed up, where can i buy a new one?

So I used to have my subs on a 2 channel amp bridged and playing at 8 ohms. They sounded great and when I got a new amp it was a mono amp and now they are at 2 ohms. I can't tell a difference in the sound quality. It is deffinatley louder (more watts) and it runs a bit hotter.

My question is, has anyone gone from a 4 ohm system to a 2 ohms system ON SUBS and noticed a major difference in SOUND QUALITY?

I blew the rear 6x9 speakers in my cavalier, these were the factory ones. So I bought some Pioneer ones to put in my car, the question is which two wires go connected to the new speakers. The pioneer speakers came with just two wires for each speaker, which obviously would be + and -. The factory ones had a little adapter on it, and each speaker had 2 sets of wires for a total of 4 wires on each speaker. I know I'm gonna have to cut that little adapter, but I'm wondering, do I really need to connect all four of those wires to my new speaker, or do I just need two from there? My head unit is also aftermarket as well.

I'm installing new 4" and 6" 3 ways into my car, and I don't know whether or not to rewire the whole system from the head deck to the new speakers. Or alternatively, use the wires already there and attach a new wiring harness/loom to attach to my new speakers.

Will the original wiring produce really bad performance?

Thanks, your help will be greatly appreciated...

Ok so one day i was in my car listening to a cd. I parked my car, when back to my car later, and my indash reciever wouldnt turn on anymore. Nothing would pop up on the screen. When i'd press the eject button, it would still eject CD's though. I went to best buy to buy a new reciever, and it was still the same problem. Nothing would come up on the screen and only the eject button would work, so now i know my indash isnt broken. So then i tried to rewire everything, and nothing still didnt work. Now the Eject button doesnt even work anymore, its like its recieving no power because nothing works now. I checked my fuse box and i put in a new fuse, and it still doesnt reciever any power. I know the reciever isnt broken, and the fuse is new, so what can be the problem? Also if you know the problem can you also tell me where do go to look in my car so i will know what to do. The only thing i can think of is the power wire for the reciever, but i dont know how to check that.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
