Can anyone help me with some overview instructions to install a new car CD player into my car. Also i want to install a 12' sub, and 2 6x9's. I had the system in my old truck so i know i have eveything i need. I just need help with how to switch the CD players and hooking up the cords to the amp. Any websites would also be helpful.

A Contour is a fairly easy car for a new CD player installation. You'll need a set of radio removal tools for Ford radios, and an adapting wire harness to connect the new CD player to the stock plugs. Both can be purchased at any car audio store. A standard DIN CD player will fit the dash opening without a kit. You'll need a wire harness like this one: http://www.amazon.com/SCOSCHE-Wiring-Harness-1986-1997-Navajo/dp/B000EIQMAK (ignore the model year information on the link; that harness will fit your vehicle UNLESS the car is equipped with a Ford premium sound system, in which case the installation becomes slightly more difficult).

The stock speakers in the Contour are 6x8" all the way around, not 6x9". You'd probably have to do some cutting to fit 6x9's into the rear deck.

I'm not sure what you need to know about the amp hookup. There will be a set of RCA cables that run from the head unit to the amp, a remote turn-on wire that runs from the deck's remote output to the amp's remote input, a ground wire that connects to chassis metal near the amplifier mounting location, and a power wire that runs to the battery. Make sure to put a fuse on the power wire, as close to the battery as possible.

i'm a Ford tech purely like yugie and a few others.... The contours had quite solid engine and transmissions in the direction of the top yet wiring and electric powered often have been all of a Ford of Europe layout that replaced into junk and a few older Contours we've extremely cautioned shoppers scrap them then attempt to repair them via fee of adjusting the wiring. (in the previous Contours extremely had a bear in mind on the wiring harness.. do we are saying $1000 different than for hard paintings?(which out of the bear in mind we charged upwards of $900 because of the numerous hours (and a few automobiles it replaced into closer to an afternoon and a nil.5 to 2 days to do?) The taurus, if saved up are real solid automobiles. they are decrease priced because of the fact Ford bought lots of them to fleets and the fleets have been given rid of them after a definite time so there are various on the used motor vehicle industry via it. some have had some subject concerns with engine and transmissions on them so i could propose anybody you have an activity in to have a mechanic look into, yet my favorites from that 12 months are the three.0 4 valve engines. those are lots extra beneficial high quality i detect (engine and transmission are diverse), have extra means and function much less problems than the extra fee-effective 3.0 2 valve or vulcan motor.
