I have a 97 Dodge Grand Caravan that has a Radio/CD player that suddenly, without warning, went dead. I have checked for broken fuses and that is not the problem. I have checked the electrical connection of the stereo and it is good. What else could cause a radio to suddenly have no power? Would the radio itself just have gone bad?

I am installing a cd player into a 95 grand prix se. I have to hardwire the cd player in as the factory harness was cut off. I have all the power hooked up correctly, but I have no sound from my speakers. I got sound to come out of the speakers one time by switching the headlights on and off a few times, but that blew a fuse. Any suggestions.

Im in school so I dont have money to get a new car but I have nice subs and a powerful amp, and there are no after-market radios that i know of fit in the 96' taurus. Will their be RCA port on the reciever? If not can i buy a converter of some sort that will make an RCA port, so i may trigger my amp via the radio? Thank you!

II am installing a cd player into a 95 grand prix se. I have to hardwire the cd player in as the factory harness was cut off. I have all the power hooked up correctly, but I have no sound from my speakers. I used a AA battery to match wire pairs to speakers. My cd player has 4 pairs of wires for speakers, a remote wire, a ground, a constant 12v and switched 12v wire. My car has 4 pairs of wires for the speakers, an illumination and dimmer wire. It also has 2 dark green wires, one of which I've been told is a speaker lead. It has a few other wires that I've been told wont be used for an aftermarket install. Do I need to hook this speaker lead wire up to anything?

I just bought a 2007 Toyota Yaris and want to install a regular cd player into it, Best Buy said it would be 40 for the installation kit, and 50 for the installation. This seems really high to me. A few years ago they installed it for free, Im confused!

I installed a Fosgate T8002 (power series) amp into my 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner as a start towards replacing the stereo system I had stolen from my truck last month. I'm running it in stereo (not bridged) to 2-Kicker CVX 12" DVC 2 ohm subs (same as L7's-but round-1500W Max & 750W RMS) at 1ohm which the amp is rated to handle. Less than 3 weeks after the install I jump into my truck after work and upon powering up the system hear a whining noise so I shut everything down until I got home to look into it. Upon returning home I grab my tools and as soon as I power up the system again the amp makes a hissing noise, spews out smoke & catches fire internally. I pulled the power wire from the amp before it burned my truck to the ground. I'm curious if anyone knows of problems folks might have had w/ this amp or what may have caused this. I've installed many systems over the years and know everything was installed correctly, I've just never seen this happen like this. Any ideas? Thank you!

Yes, I was told the two sets of outputs on my mono single channel amp in for conveience but was told 2 different way to wire 2 subs to these. I was told to just wire each sub to each set. I was also told to wire them in series....."" 'Series' means that your subs are daisychained on one channel sharing the power and ohm load. An example would be: amp pos to 1st sub pos; 1st sub neg to 2nd sub pos; 2nd sub neg to amp neg. If you run both subs off of the two outputs you will reduce the power output to the subs. ""

SO, which is best?? These are 4 ohm single voice coil subs and a mono amp.

Okay I have a 2000 Chevy Cavalier and Pioneer 6 x 9's. I took out the old inopperable ones. I found out though that I have a bar in the back and I need shallow mounting ones. I still want to install my full ones, but I don't know of any device to put them in correctly. Is there someway to raise them up or what can I do? Pioneer gave me no answer said to get them installed by a pro and they said they did not know how to put them in either.

I need to find out what the Pioneer wire colors are for the speaker wiring. I am wiring it to a factory Ford Ranger wiring harness that has the wires marked what they are for .. "IE "Lt Rr speaker Neg". So I need to know what wires from the Deck would go to those wires to be connected correctly for all of them. I saw some posts on here with other Pioneers and they dont match my colors. Here are my Pioneer DEH- 205 speaker wire colors that I need answers for: Grn w/pink stripe.Gray w/pink stripe.Blk w/gray stripe. Solid Grn. Grn w/Blk stripe. Solid Grey. Grey w/Blk stripe. Blk w/Grn stripe. I know the power wires, ant wires colors. THANKS

I have a friend who wired a singe dual 4 ohm voice coil sub and I am trying to figure out what the load is. There is a positive and negative on one side and a positive and negative on the other side. He used the positive off of one side and the negative off the other side without bridging anything. To me that sounds way wrong. If someone could tell me the ohm load that would be I would appreciate it. Or at least tell me if that is wrong or not.

I have no intention of doing this but what if someone took a powerful amp (500 watts rms per say) and used the speaker wire as a low level input into a weaker amp (250 rms per say).

Would this blow the amp or combine the power?

Just a curious question.

Ok I don't think this is possible but I don't have enough 12 volt experience to know.

I have a new amp (used but new to me) it is a Kenwood Excelon KAC-X621. It is a 2 channel amp that has 2 x 150 @ 4 ohms, 1 x 600 @ 4 ohms, and 2 x 300 @ 2 ohms. I have 2, 300 watt rms 4 ohm subs.

I want to know if there is a way to make the amp think there is a 2 ohm load per channel while still getting a bit more power.

Just wondering if this is possible.
