Yes it does.

The reason for this is, if you take your car to a dealer for a trade in, they are looking for a car that has the mass appeal. While YOU may think your car is cool and whatever you did enhances the value (to you), opinion vary greatly. In fact, you just made your car much harder to sell. The buyer may not think the same as you.

If you change anything from factory that are apparent, usually, the value decreases.

Sometimes, yes, according to blue book. But if it's a car that takes well to tricking out then chances are a lot of people will go for the modifications you've made.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that you had a $10K used car but with the accessories you added it is worth the original price plus all the extras.
It usually doesn't work that way.
People have different tastes and everyone wants to trick their car out their own way.

It depends. If you radically alter a car to you styles and image of what you want it to be, you really limit your market. As long as you don't cut the car up and compromise the integrity of the body, it should keep most of it's value. A dealer won't give you the value of the stereo, rims, etc. To a dealer, any stereo is only worth $50

If you are wanting to trade it in or sell it to a dealership then, yes. Period.

Now, you should keep all the original stuff so when you do go to sell/trade it you can take it all out/off and sell that stuff (more money plus an original car).

A car is only worth what someone will pay for it... not what a book says.

If you trick it out and it looks nice and clean then it may go up if someone is willing to pay it... but also it may go down

Good Luck

no, it will not drop the value of the car. its like getting a house and adding a fence or more rooms to it'll make the value go up.

as long as you do it TASTEFULLY the value will not decrease. if you put ridiculously huge rims, 30 speakers, and a cheap body kit, no one is going to want it like that....
