Ok so one day i was in my car listening to a cd. I parked my car, when back to my car later, and my indash reciever wouldnt turn on anymore. Nothing would pop up on the screen. When i'd press the eject button, it would still eject CD's though. I went to best buy to buy a new reciever, and it was still the same problem. Nothing would come up on the screen and only the eject button would work, so now i know my indash isnt broken. So then i tried to rewire everything, and nothing still didnt work. Now the Eject button doesnt even work anymore, its like its recieving no power because nothing works now. I checked my fuse box and i put in a new fuse, and it still doesnt reciever any power. I know the reciever isnt broken, and the fuse is new, so what can be the problem? Also if you know the problem can you also tell me where do go to look in my car so i will know what to do. The only thing i can think of is the power wire for the reciever, but i dont know how to check that.PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

If the receiver ejects the cd and won't turn on it means that probably one of the power wires is no properly attached. Find a voltage meter and check the wires for power. The constant power wire should be the yellow one on your aftermarket radio it should be 12 v at any time. The power switch wire is the red one it should have 12 v WITH THE IGNITION KEY TO "ON". If one of then reads 0V when is supposed to have 12v then one of your fuses may be blown. some cars have fuses under the hood and 1 or 2 fuses boxes commonly under the dash or at its sides between the doors. Make sure the ground wire is properly attached to the chassis or the factory ground wire. If still have the problem then one of your wires may be broken or grounding somewhere.

I'd go back to the fuses. There are always at least two fuses in any vehicle that provide power to the radio; one for the constant power circuit, and one for the key-switched power circuit. In many cases, one of the fuses may not be labeled as a radio fuse. It's also common to find one in an under-hood fuse box.

Your original symptoms sound like a problem with the switched power wire. Many after-market CD players will load and eject CD's without a switched power connection; they just won't turn on. When you re-wired it, you probably blew the constant power fuse as well. Most of the time the fuse that's labeled as "radio" in the vehicle fuse box is the switched fuse.

What you can do is test all the other accessories in the vehicle to see if you can track down a blown fuse; does the door chime still work? dome light? horn? cigarette lighter? clock? If something else isn't working, it's a clue to what blown fuse you may still have. If not, then you'll need to go through all the fuses in the vehicle looking for the blown one. Don't forget about the fuse box under the hood, if you have one.

If all else fails, you can take it back to Best Buy and have their installers troubleshoot the problem for you. Usually a Best Buy store will perform this service for about $30-$40. Power problems are usually easy for professional installers to track down; in the worst case, they can just re-wire the radio to a different power source.

i would say check the wires. again as the previous answer stated, it is possible that a remote power wire is loose or disconnected. also, it depends a lot on the reciever you have and the type of car its going into. certain cars have premium factory stereos and general wiring kits do not work. a lot of the time this just makes no sound come out, although other problems can come up like not having power at certain times. like the last guy said, best buy will troubleshoot the problem for you and likely fix it for relatively cheap and faster than you could.
