Pretty much i just got my system in. I went ahead and kept the stock head unit. My question is is upgrading it really worth it. The stock unit i have now isnt to bad its a 07 dodge charger. Also i hear that replacing the head unit will make my subwoofer louder do to something about the signal strength or signal line?

Question.

You have, for example, a 500 watt mono amp and wire up two SVC 4Ohm subs in parallel to get a 2 Ohm load. Will each sub get a true 500 watts RMS or will it get divided and only send about 250 watts to each sub?

i know how to get the dash off to get to the old player, but how do you get the old deck apart from the a/c controls? And is the wiring very complicated or is it just a big plug?

OK, I have a 76 Ford Ltd, and I installed a CDE-9846 along with my component speakers and my subs and amp. Everything works fine, except that my head unit will not respond in accessory mode, and it clears my station preset and memory everytime i turn off the car. Please Help

I'm installing a new stereo on my 10 year old BMW. The one that I'm replacing is also not from BMW, but not the same brand as this new one. So I need to redo the wiring to the ISO connection lead.

Everything is fine, just connecting same colors together. But there's an Orange wire on the connector labeled "illumination". There was an orange wire on the old stereo, but there's no orange wire on this new system. There's no "illumination" on the manual either.

What is the orange wire for? Is it OK to ignore it?

I want to put a new stereo in my 2005 Trailblazer but cannot find a wire adapter (harness?) to go on it. Evidently I need a special one that splits to the stereo and to the door dinger. It just has a basic stereo/cd player in it right now (factory), no onstar or anything special. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to replace speakers in my Lebaron by when I removed my old speakers it was plugged into four wires with a clip. The new speakers I have do not have a clip with them and it seems as though I need to weld the wires onto the speaker posts. This seems quite extensive so I am assuming I'm doing something wrong. This is my first time attempting to do speaker work and am completely lost so any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks :D

I am going to install full range speakers in my cars front doors, which currently have poor factory fitted mid+lows by my feet, and tweeters up by the door handle - would this mean that the stereo currently has a crossover somewhere along the line - if so would this need to be removed in order to succesfully install a pair of full rnge speakers??

Cheers Guys!!!

There are some specialty screws especially made for MDF (3/4"), but they seam to have a small head on them. I have used pan heads with pilot holes, but even then, they seam to split the wood. any sugestions of what has worked well for you? Sparky? KaeZoo? Love to hear from you guys.

I have two 12" Kicker CV-R subwoofers:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicker-12-CompVR-Subwoofer-CVR12/sem/rpsm/oid/172620/catOid/-13093/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
I was wondering if this amp would be sufficient for my subwoofers:

Also, how should I wire this? Should I bridge it to utilize maximum power?

Thanks in advance!
