Any of the high end car audio shops should be able to RTA your car. You can't measure decibels without a meter. That is like measuring a gallon of gas as it comes out the end of the nozzle....no way to tell. But if you are a 500-1000 watt dual 12" or maybe 10" you are probably around 120-130db unless you spent some serious cake. If you did spend a lot then the shop that installed it should RTA it for you anyways. But then again if you spent a lot of money, why not just buy the DB meter?

Don't worry if your to loud the cops will have a slip of paper for you. And they don't even have a DB meter either. They will just call it distributing the peace. Or an exhaust fix it ticket. And you could of had that meter for the price of the ticket. Other variables distance angle to car front or rear of the car or is it average noise level 10 feet from the side of the road and is it concrete or asphalt surface are there trees to soak up noise or just roadway? If your eyes are vibrating can't hear the radio turned up all the way windows down inside your car it is too loud.

Yep. If you listen to it, and it hurts your ears, it's above 90 dB. (Humans have acoustic reflexes that kick in around 85-90 dB to help prevent damage.)
