i know how to get the dash off to get to the old player, but how do you get the old deck apart from the a/c controls? And is the wiring very complicated or is it just a big plug?

Getting the dash off without breaking the hazard switch is the hardest part. The radio and A/C controls aren't combined; they're just mounted next to each other. Once the dash is off, you can remove the screws that hold the A/C module, then remove the screws that hold the radio. The radio and the pocket underneath are all bolted together in one assembly.

The radio wiring is all in one large plug. The easiest way to install the new radio is to use an adapter harness, like the Metra 70-1858. You'll also need an antenna adapter (40-GM10).

The new CD player will have a built-in amplifier, so you don't necessarily need a separate amp.
