I am totally clueless when it comes to HD radios for cars and my husband has been hinting about wanting one. I would like to surprise him on a special occasion we have coming up, but don't know what is the best HD car radio out there? Could anyone let me know what would be a good brand to buy? Thanks so much!

I pulled my radio out and well i cut the car wiring harness instead of the radio. when i hooked all the wires back together and plugged in the big black wire, it wouldn't come on. i have a dodge intrepid. The radio is not fried, there was no smoke and it doesn't smell. When you start the car you can hear it trying to start but it doesn't actually power up.

I've always use a 4ch amp on my last 2 cars, they bridge 2 ch to all four speakers to power them up and 2 ch just for the sub, and the shop I went to was featured on car audio mag, so should I trust them again, or do what everyone else say to just use a 2 ch..confused..HELP

I am not afraid to get my hands dirty but I don't have a clue where to begin. The speakers are top mounted and there is a carpeted panel covering over them. In order to change them I have to remove this. I hear people say take out the back seat but where the heck does I start. For those unfamiliar with the 97 Plymouth breeze it is basically the same thing as a 97 dodge stratus. If I do get them out can I remount them underneath so I can avoid this if I ever need to change them again?

Often in questions about "stiffening" caps, the answers include recommendations that warning signs are posted whenever an audio system includes a capacitor. I don't understand why capacitors are thought to be more dangerous than batteries. Even lawsuit-wary car manufacturers don't post warning notices about battery voltage, because the voltage levels in a standard automotive battery aren't considered to be dangerous to humans. A capacitor can't reach a higher charge than the electrical system it's connected to, and it doesn't store nearly as much power as a battery. So why is a capacitor in a car audio system considered dangerous?

People tell me that when you get both, the sound is canceled out.

I have Stock speakers (4) with a 60WRMS amp atm.

Should i get decent 6X9's, with a decent two channel amp?

Or should i get a decent sub with a monoblock? I think SPL vs SQ plays a part in this decision, and Ideally i would want a system thats for the most part SQ, but leans toward SPL. maybe a nice mid point.

I have a truck, 93', and I would like to put new speakers in the truck to go along w/the new stereo, ect. But I have absolutly NO idea what one differs from another.
So i'm asking whats a good speaker brand, (not in subwoofers or anything, just good, sounding speakers, & can take the sound i try to give them w/out it blowing.
and i'm asking if there is anything i should know about my stereo system while i'm picking out my speakers.
Thanks.

I'm assuming its clearer to listen to, but do you get additional radio stations compared to a regular radio? And does it have a monthly fee like satellite radio?

I have a 12" 400W sub powered by a 400W amp ... 2 250W 6x9`s on parcel shelf powered by a 250W amp.

When I turn the sound on the headunit up above 20 (max 50) the sound is awful and distorted.

The amps are rated same as speakers ... I disconnected my standard rear speakers.

The sound was better with my standard rear speakers and the sub.

Any suggestions?
