I'm having trouble installing the power cable. I know the black wire goes to the chassis of the car, but what about the yellow wire?

I thought Sparky was a little harsh on you at first until I saw it again and again for myself.
Your latest self voted answer is a pitiful example of your obvious need for some kind of acceptance in society. I feel sorry for you dude.

Will the wiring harness be the same regardless of the level of audio system that came with the car?

One factory option comes with 6 speakers, another comes with 12 speakers, including a sub. If I get the base option, will the wiring already be there for all 12 possible speakers, or will I have to run wire if I want to add speakers/components.

This is for a 2007 Toyota Tundra. I know there aren't many around yet, but what would you expect? (especially if you are a professional installer)

Thanks for all your answer.

For a set(pair) of 6x9" speakers do i need one or two channels? (i.e do i need a channel for each 6x9"(As long as the amp power supply is not limited.)

And why run the front speakers off the stereo? Will they still sound good?

Thanks

I am building an MP3 jukebox and want to use a car amp to run the speakers, as I can get one quite cheap and will run sub too. Anyone know a gizmo that would allow the amp to be wired to the mains. Obviously it would not just plug in to waal as it is 12v.

Oh I am in UK by the way so on 230v

I want to upgrade the speakers in my 99 jetta new body style. I know that some cars from this year on had really nice stereos. For instance I know a 99 Durango came with an infinity set. Can some tell me what type of speakers came stock in a 99 new body style jetta gl. I know the size, i want to what kind. Are they infinity, pioneer, etc. Maybe someone has taken them out of thier jetta and knows. I do not want to take an infinity system for a worse sony system. I do not want to step back.

Ihave a 600 watt 4 channel amp, i believe rated at about 200 rms i think... I have a 400 rms watt sub hooked up to two channels bridged. So lets say I have 100 rms pushing the 400 watt sub. However, when I turn up the amp to half its maximum, the sub begins to beat violently and doesnt sound good. I just purchased the sub brand new, and I am waiting for my new sub (matches watts of sub) to come in from ebay. I figure too much power to the sub will cause it to beat like that, but can too little do the same thing?

I have a car with stock speakers and an added on pioneer cd player and subs. One day i was driving and all the speakers in my car stopped working. The subs work fine and the radio still plays cds and sends audio to the subs. The speakers would cut in and back out when i went over a bump or if the sub woofers were on loud enough to vibrate the car. Now they stopped doing that. They're not blown because they sounded fine when they would come back in. Im assuming theres a loose connection or a short in a wire but when i pulled the cd player out and jiggled all the wires it didnt help. Any ideas on what to look for or where to start? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'll ask a question about what speakers/amd/subs/wires i should get and everyone seems to have their own opinion about what is the best.

Some of the things I have heard::
-The W7 is great!
-The W7 is overpriced
-The W7 is not that great
-JL is overrated
-JL components are great!
-JL components aren't that good
-JL components can handle a lot of power
-Focal is the best
-Polk SR series over Focal!
-Audiobhan's top of th line is great
-Boston acoustics top end components = da best!
-Boston's G5 sounds better than a W7 Subwoofer!
-W3 sounds great, I'd get that over G5!
-Alpine/Soundtream/Kenwood/Boston/JL/Focal/Kicker/etc makes the best amps!

I give up!

So now after all of that plus researching I'm stuck on Focal k3p or Polk SR + 6x9s for regualr speakers and probably the bostonm G5104 x 2 for subs. How did I do? And why does everyone disagree and think everything they have is the absolute best? I hear people driving by on the street and their system sounds all

I went on vacation and had to take out my amp and subs. When I was re-installing them, everything was working and then I went to route the speaker wire to the sub box and I think they made contact with a ground causing the amp to go into protection mode. My question is how do I reset the amp or correct this problem. I tried replacing the speaker wire. I checked all the connections and none of the settings changed. Anyone?

I recently installed a JBL 10" sub in my car with an Alpine 400 watt RMS. Right after I installed it, like in the first hour it worked fine. But now, my battery seems dead, and i checked to make sure that the amp wasn't staying on when i turned off the car... so what could be the problem? Did i take too long in installing it and left the doors open too long thus draining the battery? or did i wire the remote turn on cable wrong?
it seems like the amp is drawing too much from the battery right when i turn on the car, so it doesn't have enough juice to turn over. it just clicks a lot...

I have a Lexus LX 450 1997, and I have one subwoofer installed. I recently installed an Alpine CDA 9883 head unit. I have factory speakers and amp.

My Alpine head unit achieves a very treble sound. Because I already have a subwoofer, I have good lows as well. I feel as if the songs do not sound very "full", as if the mids are missing. I already configured the sound settings in hopes of resolving this problem, but it still sounds the same.

I spoke to a Crutchfield technician, and he told me that I should hook up a separate RCA to my subwoofer instead of hooking up the subwoofer to the head unit, and that I should be able to hear more bass and mids in my songs. (right now I am able to change the subwoofer level when I change the bass control)

Bottom line: I want to achieve a full sound in my songs, but all I'm hearing is high treble and strong lows (from my subs). What can I do? (I hooked up sub to the headunit where the subs are controlled through the bass control - prob?

Hello. I was interested in getting the 07 Altima. I wanted to get the 6-CD Changer, but I would have to get it in a package that requires another package (which I don't really want to pay for, since I don't want it period). However, I was thinking about getting a separate CD changer/radio when I get the Altima, but I still want to use the Steering wheel audio controls. Are there certain CD Changers/Radios/adapters/etc. I should be looking for to get what I want? Thank you!

I have a 1x12 system in my car. I have a 400wattx MTX amp. All of my wiring has been checked by a professional, and it is all good. However, when I hook it all up, my bass response is very weak. I hooked the same system into my friends car with a higher end head unit (perhaps about $180), and the system hit much harder. I'm confused because I am almost positive that the head unit has nothing to do with the power of my sub since I, (like almost every sound system owner in the world) have a specific amplifier to power this component. Could someone please give me some insight?
