Many manufacturers are now offering shallow mount subwoofers like these:

These have a mounting depth of only 3" and they are a good brand. That or get bucket seats and build a speaker box-console, but the shallow mount subs sound easier.

You have a couple of options...I also have a ford ranger regular cab and I used a 10 inch sub with a truck box but you don't need a 800 watt amp. I'm running a 150 watt alpine amp and my sub hits hard. You also might want to consider a amplified bazzoka tube.

In reality you would be hurting your ears and feeling the bass with a 150 or even100 watt amp (rms) on one sub or 2. Just look for a shallow mount subwoofer and a truck box. The beauty of amplifiers is that they can go just about anywhere there is room, just find a place and go with it.

you can use a port through sub. it is actually mounted in the bed and is ported to the cab. and that leaves enough room in the cab for amps

If you don't have much money, then you don't need to waste it on an 800 watt amp which will destroy your hearing and disrespect every neighborhood you drive though like the idiots who cruise from the near by park. Buy a good set of earphones and shut up.
