Thanks for all your answer.

For a set(pair) of 6x9" speakers do i need one or two channels? (i.e do i need a channel for each 6x9"(As long as the amp power supply is not limited.)

And why run the front speakers off the stereo? Will they still sound good?

Thanks

If you want to preserve a stereo sound from your 6x9's, then you need to use two separate amplifier channels. In a "stereo" system, the left channel doesn't always play the exact same sound as the right channel. The only way to send different sounds to the two speakers is to connect them to different channels.

Generally, in any car audio system, the front speakers are much more important than the rear speakers. Most of the sound you hear comes from the front, and the soundstage "image" is created entirely by the front speakers. The rears just provide a "fill" effect, and in many vehicles, most of the bass. For the best-sounding system, it's just as important (or more important) to amplify the front speakers as the rears.

uhm if you are planning to run rear speakers off an amp and fronts of the radio......WHY!!!!???
Will you be driving from the backseat?

You never want to do that, unless you have no clue.

You want to run a non-stock radio
amp and component set up front powered by amp
sometimes NO rear speakers...but if you want them, then you can power those from the radio...OR amp.
