I want a new sound system in my truck, where do i begin?

I have a 2000 nissan frontier with everything standard. Where do i begin on what i need to buy. I want my truck to be loud with alot of bass. Please tell me everything i need to know to make my music sound good. I dont want the top of the line stuff, but dont want they cheap stuff either. THanks

One thing. High quality equipment from Alpine, BostonAcoustics, JL, MBQuart, Eclipse, Infinity(referance series only), DiamondAudio, Focal, etc, THAT ARE ON SALE.
This is the only way to get top of the line, for cheap!

Start with a headunit. Try Alpine or Eclipse.
Next good door/dash speakers. Some components up front and co-axials in the rear. BostonAcoustics, MBQuart, Eclipse, Infinity, Polk, etc.
Next, a good 4channel amp for the door speakers.
Next, a good sub or two. TCSounds, MTX, Kicker, etc. and a nice mono amp for the sub(s).

Main thing you should get is good amps, (ex HiFonics, Fosgate) you could have the best everything else, but if your amps sucks your sounds will suck also. least important in my opinion will be the head unit, you could keep your stock and still bump.

before you start buying, you should check into a speaker shop near by to see if there is a custom box that fits your truck, unless you want to have no more back seats
