I want to build a metal console for my bronco to hold my sub, lock and be waterproof for when the top is off. Will I need to do anything special to make it sound good or should I just make out of wood?

I know the question sounds stupid but it is really legitimate.....I just bought a 2000 Ford Taurus and I assumed it only had a cassette deck when I purchased it. Some how I skipped over seeing the "CD" button next to the tape button. Although there is no CD deck in the actual radio area I hear that it should be equipped with a disk changer. Where in my car can I find this? Or is the button there just in case I would like to install a disk changer? I have no idea about cars so anything would help

I plan on taking the factory radio out of my Lincoln LS and replacing it with the Alpine ida-X001 (http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=iDA-X001)
using the standard mounting kit recommended at BestBuy for the Lincoln LS.

Is this going to look tacky or will it look alright since the mounting kit appears rather seamless?

I have a sony xplod cdx-gt510 that i installed on a 04 kia optima. From my understanding, it should show me track information on cd's and possibly on the radio station. None is shown however. Does anyone know if there is a setting that i need to change or is it something that i was mislead about?

I have a Lightning Audio 750 watt Subwoofer with the RMS being 150 and it is 4 Ohms. My amp is also Lightning Audio 750 watt with the RMS being 250 and it's a 2 channel. I have the subwoofer bridged and even when it's not bridged the amp still turns off at the same volume level. I have 800 watt wire on everything and I also have a half farad capacitor hooked with it. I don't have any idea why it keeps shutting off because everything is hooked up perfectly. And the amp kicks off when I turn the volume up about a quarter of the way loud...I can't even turn it half way up without the amp not turning off!! PLEASE HELP ME! I NEED MY BASS!

In our 89 escort we tried to wire up a stereo with the factory wires attempted to put it in the slot and then there was no sound just light no display or anything. We tried a different stereo and there was nothing at all not even light. So i was wondering if we fried the entire wiring system? Another thing when we touch the constant power wire to the accessory power wire the lights in the car come on and the digital clock. Any ideas there?

I am very eager to hear how some of you seem to think 10 inch subwoofers are so much snappier and faster responding then say a 15 or an 18 inch subwoofer?

I would also be interested in hearing how many of you "top contributors" have actually tried the equipment you like to bash so much?

Personally I stopped coming to answer peoples questions because the answers that I saw honestly disturbed me about how some of you think you know alot when you really are just giving bad advise! Points on a stupid answer forum aren't worth giving half the answers I have seen....

Thanks

I'm looking for somthing to allow me to play songs on my smart phone over my car speakers.

I have a Moto Q using Windows Mobile 5.0. The defualt palyer is Media Player 10 Mobile (I'm willing to download something else if necessary).

My car has a factory stereo from 2002, so it does not have a line-in jack or bluetooth chip. It does have a cd player and tape player.

The Q comes with a bluetooth, and a Headset jack which a line out jack does not fit in. I can't seem to get a FM transmitter to fit in the headset jack.

Does anyone know of a work-a-round to get what comes out of the speakers or headset jack of my phone to play on my car stereo speakers?

I am looking to install a new radio in my truck. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal, but on this truck, the cassette player is in a totally different part of the dash then the radio. Do i just block one off? wouldn't that look strange? anyone have a set up for this?
Thanks

hi

my daughter asked me to take a look @ her car stereo. i consider myself handy but i don't know the 1st thing about getting started on this one.

the issue is there's no display on the head unit. i googled and found a manual. the troubleshooting section says check the fuse if you've got no display. great! BUT!!! where is the fuse? i've got a meter to check continuity but don't know where/what fuse to check. the cd mechanism works because i can insert/eject a cd. there's also no radio or sound. it's dark!

the radio is a kenwood kdc-mp628.

appreciate your help :-)
