I plan on taking the factory radio out of my Lincoln LS and replacing it with the Alpine ida-X001 (http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=iDA-X001)
using the standard mounting kit recommended at BestBuy for the Lincoln LS.

Is this going to look tacky or will it look alright since the mounting kit appears rather seamless?

It's a six year old luxury sedan.
How much worse can new tunes make it look.
Ya' gunna pimp out the rest of that ride?
Cool.

I updated my Caddy with an eight-track.

It should look fine as long as you put the dash kit together right!!! When you buy a deck from either Circuit City or Best Buy OVER $100 they install it for free! Of course you must pay for the dash kit and wire harnesses to PROPERLY do a install! I just went that route and it's flawless! You also get a LIFETIME guarantee on the installation...for future reference....

yes it looks bad, the new radio and the kit don't have the shape of the oem radio
the new unit is just plain rectangular and it is going to stick out a little bid

good luck

As long as you have best buy or somebody who knows what they are doing it will look better for sure unless you or the person you are selling it to wants to keep a oringal look to it and it really anal about it. espically since its an apline it will be better than ANY factory radio.
