I just bought one 12" alpine type-r sub (4+4ohms). And a mono-channel alpine m-450 amp rated at 500w @ 2ohms, 220w @ 4 ohms. I heard if i wire the sub with the 4 ohms i will only get 110w of power. I this true? Is that underpowering the sub by too much? and will it sound good?

I'm looking for new Car Stereo and I'm interested in HD-Radio and I've looked online. I've seen some with HD-Radio with Built-In Tuner and some with just HD-Radio.

So, if I want to hear HD-Radio I also have to buy a Tuner along with my new HD-Radio?

Which is freakin expensive by the way, 150 Deck + 150 Tuner.

Are they really playing music or is the intent just to be noticed.
We have heard them as they vibrate your house, or car.
I did call the police once and they say that if you hear the noise within 75 feet of your dwelling it can be ticketed as disturbance of the peace.

I have a clarion deck and four factory speakers( two 5 1/2s and two 4x6s). When i start my truck the speakers work just fine, but at random times they will just stop working, but my stereo doesn't shut off, just the sound does from the speakers. I went to aspen sound and they said it was a blown speaker, which sounds right because one of my speakers sounds fuzzy and unclear. But i don't get how the speakers will sometimes work for a couple of days without shutting off and then sometimes only a couple of seconds. So i think it would be a bad connection or pinched wire behind the deck. It just doesnt make any sense that it would be a blown speaker if the sound shuts off when i slam the door or hit a speed bump. What do you think?

Need a case to protect my Tomtom sat nav screen. My original one - the screen cracked last week. Not sure how it happened as I've carried it fine in my handbag for months, and my bag never got thrown about. Tesco replaced it, thank goodness, but I don't want to run the risk of it happening again. Just had a look on Ebay - some seem to be just for transporting the unit, others are designed to stay on during use. What's the best one for screen protection. Any links?

Thanks!

I know that the fuseholder on the power cable needs to be higher than the amps fuse.

This new amp I'm about to grab has three 40 fuses on it.

the question: Does that mean I need a 120 fuse for my fuseholder to handle this amp?

I bought a new p2 rockford a week or 2 ago and the bass is great at 20 which i've had it at for a while and not gone much past it. However when i go up to 25 there doesn't seem to be as much bass, is this because it's not been broken in as much at these sound levels? and will it get better as time goes on?? PLEASE HELP :-)

I have noticed most Hi-Fi's and other CD players will automatically stop a CD once it has played through but every front loading car CD player will automatically start playing the CD from track 1 once it has played all the way through, WHY? (I'm not sure if car CD shuttles do the same.)
