Are they really playing music or is the intent just to be noticed.
We have heard them as they vibrate your house, or car.
I did call the police once and they say that if you hear the noise within 75 feet of your dwelling it can be ticketed as disturbance of the peace.

Either they want to be irritating or think they can actually impress people with it.

Personally I think they're "compensating"

Either way, I make that phone call to the police at least 4 days a week.

If someone wants to whine about it being a free country or some crap like that, let me shove those speakers up your *** and see how free it is.

The people I know fairly well blast their booming noises because they have so little to be proud of within themselves. They often can't read or write or even speak English - using the only language they know - Pigeon English and what they Look Like to express themselves. It is sad to think a person believes they have nothing to offer. And they are Proud of their Ignorance - showing their Pride in the way they dress. The booming cars is just one more way they can spread the news that "Hey.. I may be ignorant, can't get a decent job because I don't like to learn, but I have a great Boom Boom in my 1994 Cadillac." BLING is a pure and easily recognized example of a Mental Disease where the sufferer finds them self worthless and without any intentions of correcting their needs. There once was poetry in music - so kids would turn it up - NOT for "Hey, Look At Me" reasoning - but for "Hey, Listen to these beautiful words and medley." When to hear or see a person with loud booming noise coming from their car or apartment - you can easily bet the person inside is NOT looking for job or paying off their loans.

Yes they are playing music. Some it is just to get notice but most it is to add the low frequency sounds to their sound systems in the vehicle. Inside the car the music sounds fuller than just having regular stock speakers. On the outside all you heard is the bass which can be annoying but they can't help it that the bass carries. Alot of people think that those people that are "bumping" have their music up so loud that they can't hear themselves think but really if they have a good subwoofer in the vehicle they don't need to turn it up to get those low frequencies. So next time you hear them driving by stop and think if that really did cause a major disturbance in your life or are you just complaining because you don't have anything better to do with your time.

The lights flicker because of just as many of the others have stated. Either your grounding is messed up, your battery is to weak, or your alternater's to weak. Typically the guys that I see rolling with some major sound, have alternate power sorces for their sound equipment. Because if you've got a GOOD sound system, you are typically gonna push a lot of power. OR another possibility is, check your headlight connections. Possibly you could have loose wires up there. IF ALL ELSE FAILS! Leave it to the professionals. Dear god.

You obviously have never heard a really good song with intense bass. At first it does take some time getting used to but almost any type of music have bass, from classical to hip hop and from rock to techno. bass enhances the rhythm and overall sound.

It does sound crappy unless you are in the car that is "bumping" and only sounds good with an equal amount of treble and other levels of the equalizer

It sounds like that because that's how bass travels it goes everywhere if you actually sat inside most people's car who have nice stereos you would be surprised at the sound quality most people that get subwoofers also upgrade their mids and tweeters also at least most people I know do

To me personally the OEM stereo just doesn't cut it

The only purpose I can deduce is to irritate people! There are contests where fools compete to see who can destroy their hearing the quickest, but that's no excuse while riding around in public. Not to mention the danger caused due to the fact they couldn't hear a tractor trailer crashing into them, let alone your horn as you try to warn them they're doing something stupid.
And yes, it's illegal. Violation of noise ordnances, and in my opinion of safety regulations as well....
Best wishes, Arthur

Most idiots that do that do not listen to anything you can call music. They wasted so much money on there junk they have to have it that loud to prove to everyone what fools they are.Keep calling the cops on them. It might be a free country (NOT) and that means not having to listen to that crap.

personally i just like my music loud. i find it more enjoyable. if people have time to call the police 4 or more days out of the week on something so petty, they have too much time on their hands. worry about something more important, like public smokers blowing harmful second hand smoke around.
