Is it worth the money?

The JENSEN 7" touch screen is a great deck for the money. With a lot of great features. Including iPod input. Having a Flip out DVD player for under $400 is great. I have one myself and I love it, just as good as some of the best.

Jensen as a whole hasn't always had a great reputation, and they still slap the nameplate on some pretty cheap Chinese imports. However, they changed parent companies a few years ago, and the new owner is Audiovox. Audiovox is a fairly well respected name in mobile video, and while I wouldn't reccomend every Jensen product out there, their video units seem to be fairly good quality for the price.

I haven't been around the car radio shops in a few years, but jensen, radio master, pyrimid and other names like that were considered junk just a few years ago. now, depending on how much you want to spend it might be worth the money. try brands like pioneer, sony, kentwood, kicker, rockford fosgate, clarion, jvc, jbl, alpine stuff like that. you can look on ebay and get some thing really cheap used or new! I bought a pair of alpine 10" r series woofers for a $100 bones each (that is about half of what they sale for in the stores) and don't buy from crutchfield! their radio prices are ok (not a good ok), but their speaker $ are through the roof!

It's good for about a year and then I've heard from a few friends that they begin to have problems

It is totally worth it! A friend of mine has one in his eclipse and its awesome but if you get one please the pros. install it for you.
