I have noticed most Hi-Fi's and other CD players will automatically stop a CD once it has played through but every front loading car CD player will automatically start playing the CD from track 1 once it has played all the way through, WHY? (I'm not sure if car CD shuttles do the same.)

Two of the biggest factors that car audio equipment designers have to take into account are simplicity and ease of use. There's a limit to how many controls can be placed on the front of an in-dash CD player, especially when it also has a built-in tuner and amplifier, among other functions. Also, they have to consider that a driver can't always take his attention from the road to control the CD.

With a home CD player, there's plenty of room on the front panel for controls that allow the user to set up exactly how he wants CD's to play. With a car CD player, it's safer to just assume the user wants to be listening to music all the time. That means the user doesn't have to search on a small panel for a "repeat" setting, and he's not required to take his attention from the road to start the music playing again when the song ends.

Safety feature.
So that it does not startle you when the music stops.
You will lose concentration if all of a sudden no music is playing.
