I have one battery in my car and my farad cap says about 12v when the car is off and a little over 13 when its on. How can I get it to go to 17 without hurting my amp? I know I can put another battery in my car, but won't that put the voltage to 24v? Will this be pumping 24v into my amp? or does that mean that 24v are available if the amp should need them, but only pushes what the amp takes? Thanks

Just wondering, how many watts do you think the crappy stock radio in my 93 jeep cherokee sport puts out?
I know its not much at all, but I'm getting some much needed replacement speakers and was wondering if the $5-$10 price difference from 100 watt to 150 watt speakers was worth it.
thanks

I know with my multi meter set to Ohm meter I can determine if a wire is the same by touching the red/black to the same wire. My multi-meter only has a cord that is around 1 foot long. I need to determine if one end of a wire is the same as another end of a wire, but it is around 100 ft long, so my ohm meter will not help me. What can I use to get the answer?

I bought 2 brand new P212S4s on ebay that were NIB. I installed them into a dual 1.25 ft3 box meeting RF specs perfectly for a sealed enclosure. One of the speakers works beautifuly with awsome responce right out of the box. The other one, however, has little-no repsonce until high amounts of power is pumped into it.. I have an RF 400.4 amp so each speaker is getting 200rms (also a perfect match).
They are wired identicaly and i have mixed and match the configurations on the amp with no help. The cone on the bad speaker, it would appear is grinding against the voice coil or somthing when it vibrates. If you were to push down on the cone, it gets stuck into the VC. I was wondering why one speaker works so great while the other is extremely bad. Is it defective or should i just slowly break the bad one in and work out the kinks?

I'm trying to install an infinity basslink subwoofer in my car. will it work ok if i just tap the rear left and rear right speakers? (one connector plugged in) can i fake the system out and use my rear speakers to plug into the "front L/R" connector?

also, when when i turn off the ignition, the speaker hums very loudly. i'm not using a remote wire because i'm using the universal interface which automatically shuts the amp off when i shut off the car. it is NOT shutting off though.

I basically wired the "front" connector on the back of the basslink to my Rear L, and the "rear" connector to Rear R speaker.

It barely hits. What's the correct way to wire it WITHOUT using the fronts?

This is one of the weirdest problems I've had with my car's audio. During the day everything seems to work perfectly, but everytime I get in my car at night and turn it on, nothing comes out of the back speakers. There's only been a few times during the day where it didn't work, and a few times at night where it did work. I'm at wits end right now, and hoping someone has any ideas as to what the problem could be. One friend mentioned that it could involve the front head lights, but I'm not sure. Any help is greatly appriciated!! Thanks.

This is about the car radio reception. For months I drove brand new AVIS cars in the USA and the 99.5 FM WCRB sounded as if a home theater is playing it. No noise, no disturbance. Clean and pure classical music. My friend now bought a VW Passat 2005 and I bought a Honda Civic 1999. FM radio reception for 99.5 WCRB and 89.7 WGBH are noisy. Why is this the case????? I really do not understand..

Ok guys im just wondering here, i was thinking that installing an amp and sub woofer would be kinda tricky or too time consuming with all the wires and stuff going to the battery and everywhere. So i was just wondering if i get an extra 12v battery, how would i install this with an amp and sub woofer in my trunk? Any links/videos would be helpful thanks!

I ordered a sub woofer box off of ebay and i wanted to port it to better match the airspace needed for my sub woofer. I find out my port specs that i needed and called a local audio store to find a port. This person tells me that if i try to port this box, it will mess up the sound and would ruin the box because a port must be installed when constructing the box and that its just plain "physics"--that it wouldn't work because the box is already sealed and you cannot port it. Is this true? and if so, why?
