There aren't any obvious screws or panels that appear to come off easily. Has anybody had any experience with this vehicle and stereo unit that may answer my question?

I purchased a dual xdvd8182 and the sub output is only a blue rca. i know that i need a y cable to split it to 2 channels but the onlys ones i found go from blue male which i know goes to the back of the head unit, to white and blue female which you plug the patch cable into from amp. But my problem is that my amp and patch cable has red/white rca's not blue/white. I was wanting to know if the red/white patch cable from the amp can plug into the blue/white input on the y cable. Thanks for the help.

Does running a high wattage stereo system use up more gas then a low wattage stereo system? I believe that a stereo system that is 900 watts for extreme sakes and a stereo that is 200 watts, the 900 watt system would suck up more gas because it does not run mainly from the car battery. I believe if the car stereo runs mainly from the battery, the car would die in several hours, so the car needs to get an extra energy source from the gas. Is the gas usage measurable or is it to minute?

My headunit is Kenwood 22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels. Im currently looking at 4 different 6x9 speakers to replace my blown rear 6x9's. Here they are:

Infinity Kappa 2 way
2-110 watts RMS (330 watts peak power)
2-ohm impedance
frequency response: 35-25,000 Hz

Infinity Kappa 3 way
2-110 watts RMS (330 watts peak power)
2-ohm impedance
frequency response: 35-25,000 Hz

Alpine Type R 2Way 6x9
2-100 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)
4 ohm impedence
frequency response: 60-27,000 Hz

Polk Audio db690 3way 6x9
10-100 watts RMS (300 Peak)
frequency response: 35-22,000 Hz
4 ohm impedence

Im trying to learn about car audio and I understand most of the values like RMS and the frequency but I dont quite understand what OHM is and how to interpret whether I nee 2 or 4. I was also told that speakers that are 2ohm would require me to buy an additional amp to power them is this true?

What I wanted to know was which would bet suit my head unit. and which wont. Thanks

My husband and I are going on vacation to France and Italy. I want to put together some music for the journey (we are renting a car in both countries). However, I don't know for sure what sort of system these cars will have. The best bet of course it to bring an FM transmitter, because the cars will at least have radios. But, do FM transmitters bought in the US work just fine in Europe? Are the FM frequencies the same and the cigarette lighters universal? We'd be driving a Renault Twingo and a Fiat Punto or something similar, so these will probably be foreign cars.

Alpine

I already bought the Pioneer but I can get a refund and get the Alpine. I coulda sworn the Alpine sounded a looooot louder. Ont he same volumes. But Pioneer had more controls. Will Pioneer be loud too?

The Alpine has better FM Sensitivity and CD Signal-To-Noise. Is that why it's louder?

My 98 Ford Escort has a cassette tape deck and I want to replace it with a CD player deck but I noticed it's connected to the AC by a faceplate. So what would be a compatiable CD player deck I could install and would fit? I would guess I would need a new faceplate.

Thanks.

yes it's true. That's why you should use bio-deisel or electric cars. This is a serious problem and we need to stop. Before you know it, the world will come to an end.

*~*Did you know that between India and China, 1,000 people buy a car each day. That's alot of people and alot of cars.

and don't be an a#@hole and say something like well I don't care, because you think you're smart. I want to see if anybody else knows this or not
