Well i had bought a whole system i hooked up my cdplayer and all my speakers....then as i get to the subwoofers and my amp... i just noticed i have two black battery wires hook up...and i always thought u need a red and a black....my car been running Riged like this for awhile and never noticed...even when i put it in the mechanic shop they never noticed it....well as i tried to hook up my radio it wouldnt work...as soon as i touched the battery it just sparked and wouldn't stop, my power wire was juss burning...any idea how to fix this...

Thanx for the information...someone told me i should have a positive and a negative but there nothing that indicate which one....when i try to hook up my amp...everything backfires...its sparks and jus burns the power cable...im going to take it to the shop to make sure nothing is crossed over....

sorry that you burned your power wire you will need a new one if you didn't fry your stereo also .

Okay, if you have one wire connected to the positive battery post and another connected to the negative post, then you have a positive and a negative battery wire. The color of the wires is completely unimportant. If you're making a connection to the battery, though, you need to know which one is positive and which is negative. This should be marked on the battery itself.
