I have a list of questions because I plan to buy 2 subs and 2 amps??

I have a 96 Chevy Caprice

- What kind of wires and what all should be in a complete amp kit? (1/0 or 0 gauge wire, fuses, ground wire, speaker wire, etc)

- Is a 6 Farad capacitor by Power Acoustik good for this system?

- I have a vented box for these is that good?

- Should I get a 200 volt alternator and a battery also?

- What else do I need to do for my system?

- Should I get a Chevy Tahoe instead of a Caprice and will a Caprice hold this system

- Any Other Info because I need all I can get!!!

next week i will be getting a subwoofer system thing. i was pretty much sold on a l5 because from what i hear square is better, and its also cheaper than a L7. one of my friends said that i should get a 8" l5 because of the limited space in my truck. he said it bangs just as good as 2 kicker comps 10". but now my question is , what should i go with?i got space for only 1 sub. either a 8 inch l5 or a 12 inch kicker comp. how much would a normal deck, amp and subwoofer install should be?

I want to get XM radio for my car. Do I just order the set-up from XM and have any car audio place install it, or should I take the car back to the dealer for installation? I'm not even sure what is involved in having XM radio in my car - do you have to remove the current radio that is in the car?

Hey guy/gals,
I have a '95 C280, and it comes with four rear speakers. Right now, I only have two Kenwood 240max/40rms 5.25" speakers in the rear. I also have a cheap no name 1000watt (so it says) 12" sub in the trunk. It sounds very, very good. I came up with the idea of putting in two 5.25" subs in the other two spaces for the rear speakers. The only subs that small I can find are two Pyramid 200watt/100rms subs. If I install those two small subs, and keep my one 12" in the trunk, what's the best type of amp to connect to them? I was thinking a 4-channel and connect the 12" to two channels, and split the other two channels to the smaller subs. I heard mono-amps are better, so is it possible to connect the 12" sub to one channel, and connect the smaller subs to the other channel in a mono amp? is that even possible? Is this idea just stupid? Thanks, Kris

install on. I need to know if I have to buy a mount kit & possibly a wire harness for it. How can I find out this info? Also, if there is any extra info anyone can give me I would appreciate it. My husband or his brother can install it for me, just as long as I get what I need.

I recently purchased a Pioneer head unit (Model# DEH-P4800MP) along with the Pioneer Ipod interface adapter (Model# CD-IB100ll) so I could have full control over my ipod through my car stereo. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed and felt like it doesn't do as well as it could. For one, It doesn't scroll any of the ipod text and you have to play with the controls just to get no more than 8 letters of text to show for about 20 seconds and then it just displays "Ipod". The controls are not very user friendly at all so I'm seriously thinking about selling it now and upgrading to the DEH-P6800MP model only so I don't have to turn around and buy a new Ipod adapter too as I would if I went with a whole different brand name. Anyway, I'm looking for advice from others who currently own a pioneer head unit & Ipod adapter to see what they think about the integration and to help me to decide rather I should go with another brand or stick with Pioneer and / or what model or Brand name?

I bought two Lightning Audio S4.12.8. subwoofers and was going to hook them up to my 1200 watt profile amp. The subs are 300 watts rms and 900 watts max power. But when I got home, my friend asked me why did I get 8 ohm woofers? I didn't think that really mad a difference cause I told the store owner what I was running it to, and he said that this what I needed for my budget. My friend also told me the lower the ohm, the better the speaker. My amp is 2 ohms, so why would he sell me 8 ohm woofers? Also, are there any sleeper name brands out there that are for a good price and are still about the same as those high priced ALPINES, AND KICKERS, AND MEMPHIS ?

Today is -22, wind chill is -40. My 2.2 86 Dodge needs more cranking power and needs to fit in the Battery mount, or i can extend that myself if i have to. Right now i have a 5 year old 750 Amp, and 630 cold cranking Amp. Is there a Battery that has more cold cranking Amps that i can get for my 2.2. I understand 5 years is probebly a death for Batterys. Give me some good Bat. brands to check out. I really want to blow the socks off of this 2.2 when the weather gets this cols in north Minn. Thanks, Six
