kicker subs l5 or comps?

next week i will be getting a subwoofer system thing. i was pretty much sold on a l5 because from what i hear square is better, and its also cheaper than a L7. one of my friends said that i should get a 8" l5 because of the limited space in my truck. he said it bangs just as good as 2 kicker comps 10". but now my question is , what should i go with?i got space for only 1 sub. either a 8 inch l5 or a 12 inch kicker comp. how much would a normal deck, amp and subwoofer install should be?

first off, the square subs are less efficent then a round one. thats right, there a dumb design, and the only reason kicker uses the square design, is to be differnt, so people would buy them. seems to be working.

second, a 8" woofer is more of a mid bass driver then anything. your freind needs to learn before he gives advice to people. the spl of the 8'' l5 is 83.1. which is bad. and it only goes down to 28 hrz. but i bet it distorts that low and and volume.

2 10" comps would be, by far, the better choice. but it looks like your cramed for space. so what do i recomend? ditch kicker all together. there overated, and they are niether loud nor sound good. what you should get is in the link below.

go to a private shop that sells Pioneer Premier, and listen to this little dude. its a 12" driver that is only 4" deep. so you can mount it anywhere. i promise you it will be louder, clearer, and hit harder then the crappy kickers you were looking at. but how can a small sub be so good? i dont know. its one of those things you have to see/hear to believe. you'd be screwing yourself if before you bought a 8" woofer that your not going to be happy with, you didnt look at these first.

identity get the single kicker L5 it is going to take uo les room on your trunk and the rms is bigger meaning those will hit plenty greater good then the 15's. yet with 15's u get a marginally clearer base noise and it hits the better notes greater useful then 12's

None go with the JL Audio w3 or w6s u will be pleased put a kenwood exelon KDN-832u for head unit and for an amp get a kenwood KAC-8452 u can find it all at

please dont buy the L5 they suck bad the cvr are much better. now the L7 are fine subs and sound good.check out the cvx subs there killer woofers get them...
