When playing the radio, the left channel plays fine. When playing a regular cassette or using the cassette to CD adapter, the left channel can be heard, but its like the volume is at the lowest possible level (ie volume = 1). The right side is loud and crystal clear. I have cleaned tape heads with alcohol and q-tip. I was gonna pull the radio out 4 days ago and see if I needed to solder the wire on the tape head, but I decided to listen to it again and it somehow played correctly. Both left and right channel were loud and crystal clear. Its been playing fine for 4 days but tonite I got in and the left channel sound is almost non existent (ie volume =1 on left side). Since I can faintly hear the left channel, that leads me to believe the wire is still connected to the tape head. If it was completely off, then their would be absolutely no sound from left channel. I've been using a mp3 player connected to the cassette to CD adapter and been enjoying it. But now its "mono", any ideas?

I am an expert at car audio instalation, however the biggest systems i have done are for quality and only require a capacitor. A customer of mine is looking to go bigger, and better. However I know using the OHM theory, that I need more ampers, how do I add a alternator and batterys? Thanks

I just bought a 04 Golf that has the wiring ready for an amp and subs.
I am thinking about Dual 10" subs from Kicker, JL Audio or Alpine.
I know somewhat about subs and what I want there, but when it comes to Amps I have nto a clue, and I dont want to go into a shop and have them tell me stuff and I end up getting something I dont need. Any help on what Dual 10" subs and amplifier I should get is much appreciated. (PS: I don't want to spend much more than a grand)

Do I have to have a special type of stereo in my car? I have a regular CD player that I bought from Walmart a few years ago. Will that work? And also, how does it work? I know you have to buy a display unit or whatever, but does it go of your car's antennea or do you have to have a special adapter or something?

Hi everyone. I have an Eagle Tomahawk 10 meter radio that was given to me by a freind. He told me ,that the radio will power up,but there is no modulation to it. Someone told him that I would need to replace the audio chip for it modulate again. Also, is the manufaturer still in business. I need some more buttons for the panel on the upper right hand side that changes the settings. I greatly appreciate any and all help trying to get this radio pssibly back to working. If not, I'll probably end up either throwing it away or using it as a bost anchor (lol). Thanks to all.

this is for my car system, im looking for a 4 channel amp:

-should the rms watts on the amp be less than those of the speaker?(so no damage is done at full volume)

-what if they were exactly equal? like 4 (120 rms watt) speakers hooked up to a 480 watt amp?

-What if they were more? like a 1000watt amp connected to 4 120rms watt or 200rms watt speakers

and should the same apply for the sub woofer? i don't want anything breaking apart my car, i found a 600watt subwoofer, will it be fine if i connect it to a 280watt amp? will the output be good enough?

I appreciate every answer!

thanks,
Andrew

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 and want to play my MP3 player through the radio. I have looked at some kits but they require that I disconnect the XM. I understand that the 2007 model comes with a MP3 jack. My question is does anyone know if the 2007 stock radio will fit in the 2006 model truck?
