One way to tell, take a small AA battery and put it across the terminals. If the speaker pushes out, it mimics the polarity on the battery. Just don't hold the battery in place for too long.

The guy with the answer above mine is correct. You take a single battery and hook it up to the speakers. As you make contact with both ends the speaker will move slightly either upward or downward. If the speaker moves upward, then whatever side is currently touching the positive side of the battery is also the positive side of the speaker. If the speakers move downward, then its vice versa.
If you are testing some bigger speakers like 8" + woofers, then they probably wont move enough to be noticeable. In that case, just "borrow" a 9 Volt battery from your smoke detector, in your house, and use that. That should be strong enough to push it.

Today, i had my exhaust changed. anyways, after i got home, i realized

if you,ll look on the speakers,,where the wires connect too,,theres two tiny little signs there one says + and the other says - there kind of hard to see but you,ll see them,good luck hope this help,s.
