I've fitted five of these in the last couple of days and am fitting three more tomorrow. They are a good reliable unit and transmit audio usually very good.
Firstly I would delete the pairing by going into menu on your phone and deleting there. Then with the cars ignition on push both the red and green buttons. You will get a message saying memory erasure in progress please wait then a few seconds later a message saying please pair device. Do another search with your phone, put the code in (1234) and try it again.
If the tx audio is still poor, try pairing another phone. If it is poor with another phone contact the installer as there must be a fault with the mic. As the cable is thin it is quite easy to pinch which can cause problems.
The only other thing I can think of is mic seperation. The mic needs to be a good 18 inches from the speakers or you will get clipping which can in turn cause audio problems.

Check the simple things first-
1.Try it with your air vents switched off they can cause nasty interference if pointing towards the mic, especially if they are positioned high in the top of the dash like a passat for example.
2. Is the mic positioned well and pointing towards you?
3. Try a different phone. Some Sony Erickson's and Motorola's are not very good with hands-free kits.
If the problem still persists contact your installer
