Hz or Hertz is a measure of frequency.

sound whether it is audio or voice, or a jet engine, is composed of complex combinations of Frequencies.

The human ear tends to have the range of 20 to 20 000Hz

the lower the frequency the lower the sound is in the audible range i.e. Bass is around the 500Hz

Add in Pitch and volume and you get music (or noise)

Hz (short for Hertz) is equal to cycles per second and is a measure of the frequency of the sound waves you are hearing.

So, the answer is acually quite complex (because of the maths and physics) but simply - the frequncy range quoted for a loudspeaker is the highest and lowest that it can handle without significant distortion. If your speakers are quoted at 50- 20000 Hz (or 50-20kHz) at the given power output they will be fine for normal hearing.

yes, it is the movement (outwards and inwards) per second.

i think normal human ear can hear between upto 20,000 Hz. as you grow older, you here less.

another word for this measurement is frequency response.
