I"m looking for something that my radio could slide into and out of without having to remove the dash to take my radio out. Something like a rackmount.

Vehicle is 2004 Pontiac Montana. Still trying to figure out how to get fascia off if anyone can address that. Original stereo is radio/CD, replacement has cassette player in addition. Have been researching the code issues, but mostly want to know if I can handle removing the old one and putting in the new one. Is it just unplugging the old and swapping the new or am I going to have to deal with new wiring harnesses, etc.? Also, is the code tied to the radio or to the vehicle? Don't want to bother getting the code off the old one first if it isn't going to work on the new one anyway. Is there a place to get codes free, or should I pay a website $15.00?

This is the original factory radio/tape player as installed when my Mercury Cougar was new in 1993. The radio plays perfectly with no static crackling, or buzzing sound. Only the tape player emits this noise. It also makes the same noise when I use a cassette converter to input my MP3 player. The static increases in intensity and rapidity during louder passages. When the volume is turned low there is a click about once a second. Turning up the volume shortens the time interval producing a buzzing sound.

i have a 2000 volvo c70 with the standard cd player in it, it is a 3-CD Pro-Logic system SC 901, and i bought a dvd player to go in there instead, the one i bought was the ripspeed DV710 from halfords, now they have fitted it for me and it gets power but no sound comes from it, they have said to me that its because of the pro-logic system in the car, i contacted volvo who said that they can't help me as the dvd player is an aftermarket one, now holfods explained that i would need some sort of lead or adaptor to get this all to work properly but are unable to get me one, does anyone know of where i can find such a thing? thanks in advance guys and gals

I have one JL Audio 12W1v2-4 subwoofer and one JL Audio A2150 amplifier. It's already installed and everything. If I wanted to add another pair, would the wiring really be a hassle? Or would it install just as easy?

I have a vector FM stereo transmitter so I can listen to my mp3 player in my car. For some reason, the transmitter will not fit in my cigarette lighter outlet. I know it works, since I tried it in my sister's car and it works in there.

i just had a 4-channel amp installed to power 4 of my after-market speakers, and the sound and volume had dramatically improved. However, at low to no volume, there's a constant static/slight humming sound coming from the speakers (louder if engine is on, softer if engine is off). Both my local installer and the tech support at Crutchfield said that this noise is normal, and wouldn't be detrimental to anything in my car. Besides being annoying, is this noise something to worry about? And, what would be a good way to get rid of this noise?

(The installation was double-checked by the shop, and they confirmed that all the groundings and wirings were done correctly.)
