i have a 2000 volvo c70 with the standard cd player in it, it is a 3-CD Pro-Logic system SC 901, and i bought a dvd player to go in there instead, the one i bought was the ripspeed DV710 from halfords, now they have fitted it for me and it gets power but no sound comes from it, they have said to me that its because of the pro-logic system in the car, i contacted volvo who said that they can't help me as the dvd player is an aftermarket one, now holfods explained that i would need some sort of lead or adaptor to get this all to work properly but are unable to get me one, does anyone know of where i can find such a thing? thanks in advance guys and gals

from my own experience in the past, when hit with a cable problem, I have contacted a company called auto leads and they seem to be able to source/make any cable req'd as long as they have radio/cd/dvd player manufacturers number and model numbers.

I cannot believe they fitted this for you. I am not familiar with the Rip speed system but the Volvo has a seperate amplifier under the drivers seat and this is only compatible with the Volvo head unit. To get anything else to work will take a hell of a lot of re wiring and will most likely sound crap any way as its all designed to work as Volvo made it.
I would get your money back from Halfrauds (if you have no audio then the unit is not fit for the purpose for which you bought it) and then find a proper in car AV specialist. It will cost you more money but it will work

I would go to Ripspeed direct as I am sure they will either have the adaptor available themselves or be able to point you in the right direction as to where to pick one up that is compatible.

dvd playa's should play cds so plug your speakers strait into the dvd playa
