Is there a removable car radio chassis that I could use to take my radio out at night and slide it back in ?

I"m looking for something that my radio could slide into and out of without having to remove the dash to take my radio out. Something like a rackmount.

Yes there is I really don't remmeber what it is called but if you go to a Radio Shack store they sell them for cb radios. They have all the fittings that will work for a car radio also. It is only about 10 dollars if that much. I have one in my truck for my cb radio.I hope this helps you a lot all you have to do is tell the clerk what you are looking for and tell them they have them for CB radios they will show you what I am talking about.

Pioneer makes a stereo, or made a stereo as mine is 4 years old, that removed very easily with 2 little 'key' like tools that unlatched it from the vehicle and it pulled right out. All you had to do was unplug the harness from the back.
I did that when I would leave my car places for longer than overnight.
As far as making one, I don't know how you would go about doing that and keeping it secured while you were driving.
