It's a great idea, but for the amount of money you'd have to spend on an AC to DC converter, you could get a home theater system.
You'd need:
A powerful AC to DC converter (you'd be looking to spend $100 or more)
Boxes for your 460W speakers
A box to hold the MP3 player
Somewhere to mount the amp
Even though you could connect your car speakers to an in-home receiver, the receiver isn't going to be powerful enough to probably give you what you're looking for. in home speakers aren't capable of handling as much power as most aftermarket car speakers.
If you're stuck on using your car components inside your house, then your best bet/cheapest route would be to get an AC to DC converter that could handle the wattage coming from your MP3 player (probably 15-25 amps)
and then go to a pawn shop to get a cheap receiver (the one you can get with the most wattage) and connect the speakers and your sub to that, with RCA cables going from the MP3 player to the input of the receiver.

Home audio for the most part is way more advanced than car audio , most car audio is technology handed down from home and pro audio.

jake is a little backwards...
The DC power supply for something that consumes that much power will very expensive. A 20 amp DC power supply runs about $100 and will only power up to 150 watts.
One way to tell is to add up the total fuse ratings on the amp and radio and get a 13.8 DC supply that is the same rating in amperes.
If your fuses total 80 then you need an 80 ampere 13.8 volt DC supply.

first you must have a DC converter as the car uses DC only .then check on the amp and mp3 player the voltage need ..( 9 to 12 mostly)...then set the voltage on the converter to the required volt and after all the speakers and woofer are connected ..you can connect the set to the house current

Well they are completely different types of power. The vechile runs on AC power which is a 12 volt system. A home runs on DC power, which is far more poserful than a 12 volt system. I would just save up and get a home theatre system. When they are on sale you can get one cheaper than your car audio system.

you can powered it though a 12V dc battery but you need to maintain it regularly which is costly thing to do. Other option is to use ac to dc power converter which gives 12V and at least 5 Ampere current. You can supply the required power to player and amplifier from this apparatus.
