My nephew has an '07 318 series that he leased for 36 months, with a 30,000 mile cap. He has had it 9 months, and it has 21,000 miles. Is it possible for him to maybe go from the lease he is in, to BUY a BMW from the same dealership without getting the lease break fee? Will they still kill him for the miles he has on it so far?

I am not a mechanic, so please try to explain your ideas more simply if you can, and please bare with me..

a couple days ago we were messing with the timing trying to get the truck to run better.. we synced it in at what we think is 10 degrees BTDC, and it didn't run any better, but it ran.. and today the truck barely started and ran super poorly. so we checked the plugs which were all fouled, cleaned them, and as we continued trying to start the truck the plugs would become full of gas, fouling again. Eventually we got the truck to start once, but decided it was running so poorly we'd better look at the timing thing again.

so we cleaned the plugs, adjusted the plug gap to .035 (is that right?) and tried again, spraying gas and starting fluid into the throttle valve. We got a nasty backfire fireball somehow and took a coffee break. Came back and now all the plugs are dry. engine stumbles to a start and the timing is way advanced somehow. turn truck off to turn distributer..

ok I have an 85 jaguar XJ6 and I need to replace the ignition... thing... the part I have to buy is called the ignition lock assembly. But I have no idea what the part is that the ignition sets in. Does it set directly in the car? Because all I see now is a bunch of wires and it looks like if I get that part put on it will be hanging there. Do I need another part or what??? lol

When airline pilots travel over water, they
say to each other "we have now reached our
point of no return."

But mathematically, if a commercial jet
flies 45,000 ft, it should be able to glide for
450 miles......or is it 45 miles?

how does one fly safely to Hawaii--2600 miles out?

I recently bought a Nissan Altima 2005 model and I could not locate the tire pressure label in the owners guide. Would appreciate your note here.

It is perpetually in 4WD and it wastes gas when there's no snow on the road. I'm wondering if there's something I can install.

The last time I changed my oil filter I evidently forgot to grease it. It is not coming off easy. Is there a way to remove an ungreased filter? Or are there any products to help with this issue? My oil filter wrench is ineffective due to the location of the filter.
Please help!!!

I heard that when you're at a red traffic light for a while, you should put your car in neutral? Why is that?

Also, I have an automatic transmission. What do these do, and when should I use them? (L, 2,1)

Thank you so much!
