I'm thinking of buying a motorcycle so that I can ride it around town, but I'd also like to take short off-road trips on some of our local dirt roads here in Arizona. I'm not talking mud, or boulders -- just the kind of bad roads that require a 4WD. Would it be practical to buy a cruiser and sometimes take it off road, or do I need a bike that is explicitly dual purpose?

The car is an old Volkswagen Rabbit. When it ran out of gas, I cut out a section of the rusted gas line and replaced it with rubber. Now it's not getting gas and I can't find any valve to let air out of the line. Can I prime it with starting fluid or gas?

This is a 1992 Tempo GL (Vulcan V6, ATX transaxle)

I took this video with the car set in Neutral, as you can see the tachometer needle becomes unstable near 3,000 rpms, this is more evident when the car is in motion and it also make the car acceleration unstable, I have no clue why this is happening!

After the 3,000 rpms threshold is reached the engine again regains power and can go at top speed.

Does this possibly have to do with the MAF or TPS sensors?
Does anyone have an idea of what's happening?

My son-in-law was draining the old antifreeze from his Chrysler Town and Country 3.8L van. It was flowing very slowly so he tried backing (forcing) the plug out a little more, wahm ! it came out of the hole. It will not go back in.
We puchased a new plug, it goes in all the way and tightens, but, it won't stop the flow of water from coming out of the spigott. There is a good "O" ring on the new plug, it seems to go in too far though. It goes in with a twist, I can feel the thread grab, it follows all the way until tight...it loosens easily and could fall out with vibration. Someone help, please. Can I buy a metal plug for a better fit?

My BMW 3.25i automatically veered to the right if I don't hold the steering wheel tightly. I called a BMW service agent and asked him about aligning my wheels and he said that they can't aligned it until they check the front supensions..saying some older model have bad supensions. My car is a 2001 and already had the 55000 miles maintenance work done 6 months ago..do you think he is trying to rip me off? Why can't he just aligned it? Also he said an oil change would be $85..does that sound right?

I'm trying to rent a car for tomorrow morning. Hertz, Avis, Budget...the big ones are completely booked online. I'm renting from an airport in San Jose. It's mind-boggling that those big 3 are completely booked with the sheer amount of cars in those lots. Anyone have an idea what the chances are of going to the actual lots themselves and asking at the counter for rentals? I called and was told to keep trying the online site. I don't have faith that cancellations, etc will show up on the site though. Ideas anyone?

Okay, so my husband's car "died" this morning... It will start [Barely] but only go for another block or so, and then it will stop again! He said that the little fan in the radiator is not spinning and that it's hard for him to steer... Can anyone tell me with just these details what is wrong?

I just bought a used car. I've needed jump starts a couple of times. The battery looks new, there isn't any corrosion.

Do I just need to do some good driving for awhile to get the battery in good shape?

Thanks.

My car ('96 4.3L V8 Caprice) is leaking coolant. When I drive, the car does not overheat, but it seems to be losing a lot of it. Every week, my low coolant light comes on, and I have to add a 1/2 gallon or so. When I park my car overnight, there is a puddle on the ground. My oil is not brown, so I dont think there is anything wrong with my headgasket(s). What could be the problem?

Few if any will remember this.
But during world war 2 a method was devised to capture and use smoke from a wood fire on board vehicles in Europe.
No, not a steam engine. But some sort of engine similar to gasoline engines, but remade or designed to run on smoke.
I'm wondering with the cost of gasoline headed for $4.00 a gallon; if it wouldn't be practical now to reintroduce this machine.
If it will run on wood smoke, why not run it on trash?
Perhaps there exists a vehicle in a museum in Britain?

Driving down the freeway last night I noticed my 94 Toyota truck started making a much deeper and louder noise. I limped it home and checked it out today. Checked the oil and it was fine. Someone said it may be the transmisssion but it seems to shift fine even though my clutch is starting to go. It sounds like the noise is coming from the transmission when I start it up and let it idle. There are no holes or disconnections in my exhaust. I did notice some oil had leaked around the rear differential and I don't know of its related. I was wondering if it would be a horrible idea to drive it the mile down to the mechanic or pay for a tow truck. I have already used my 3 freebies on the AAA card so the tow would come out of my empty pocket.

the battery on my 91 mercury topaz wont hold a charge and the alternator belt keeps breaking. We had the alternator checked and its fine so the only other thing that could be the problem is the power steering. right? so we are going to get a new one but its 22 dollars cheaper if we bring in the old one before we buy the new one. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove it. any other observations about this problem would help too. thanks

I'm working on a project for school and have to come up with a campaign for Harley Davidson. We are looking to market to all woman and younger men ages 18 - 34. If anyone has any input on why they are not interested in riding, I would love to hear it. Same goes with if you are a rider. What do you ride and what do you enjoy about it? Would you change anything about Harley Davidson?

My car has been having trouble accelerating recently. Saturday, as I was driving, whenever I hit the gas (after stopping at a stop sign or light), the car would sometimes stall for a second, then jump forward violently and then run normally for a few minutes. The internal car lights would dim for a few seconds and the radio would turn off. After the car starts moving again, several warning lights come on (breaks, ABS, battery) but would turn off after a few seconds. Also, the gas gauge would go down to "E" (car has at least 1/3 tank of gas) but would slowly go back to normal. This happened a few times. Got the car home later that night.

Now, when I try to drive it, the car starts normally (no warning lights), but after putting it in drive and giving it gas, it jumps forward a few times, then dies. Warning lights + Check engine light turns on. Can't drive forward at all anymore. Can be driven in reverse with no problem.

Any advice?

my '07 GMC qualified for a lemon law claim...it's been a few months since I've been working with an attorney. He finally filed a law suit in court because GM kept offering me crap. My attorney typed up this 20 page paper and paid a court fee to file the suit. We actually don't have to show up in court, the papers just go to the judge, i guess? How much longer will this take since he already filed the law suit? I know I should ask my attorney this, but I can rarely get ahold of him since he is really busy.
Thanks!
