I have a 1989 Toyota Camry and my brake lights do not work. I checked the fuses ( all of them! under hood and inside driver panel) also replaced all the bulbs with new. I still have no brake lights and the dash light indicator continuously shows a little car with the back light problem. What can I do? I would like to know if there is a stop switch attached to the brake pedal and if so how do I check it and/or replace if it is bad. Can I get a diagram and directions on this part...I think it is called an actuator switch? Also, if anyone has any other useful information as to what may be the culprit please let me know. Possible a relay or a link?

My parents' car has a rear tire that has a nail in it, and it is down to 10-15 pounds of tire pressure. Would it be safe for them to drive their car 6 miles to the car dealership to have the tire changed?

I had brake pads installed when leaving the shop someone following told me I had no brake lights. The tail, signal, backing, and hazards all work fine. I checked all the bulbs and fuses which were in working condition. I changed them all anyway just as an extra precaution. Does anyone know if somehow changing the pads could affect the brake lights through maybe a sensor that is not connected in the wheels somehow or any other reasons why the brake lights aren't working?

My car has about had it. Anyway, there is a used car that I am looking at that is a deal that I really can't refuse. My grandmother and aunt have said that they will help me get the car, but my father refuses to let me borrow money from them. I am 20 years old by the way. I feel like it is in my best interest to get the car, but I don't want my father to disown me (yeah, that is what I said). What should I do?

When my husband passed away he left behind a 76 Corvette Stingray, he planned on restoring it but unfortunately didn't get far. It has no motor, needs new paint, tires, and interior needs redone. Now I am wanting to get rid of it but have no idea what it might be worth, if anything. I thought it might make a good project for someone and I just hate seeing it just sitting there collecting dust. Any suggestions?

Long story short. I bought a car to get me until graduation. Its a piece of junk, but thats another story, I procrastnated and just got a ticket for expired registration and inspection. Got the inspection done, so I got that wiped off. They said I could get my regisration wiped off once I got that.

Here be the problem. When I bought it I did not go get the title put in my name. Foolish I know, but I didnt have the money to pay the taxes, so I waited for my school loan to come in. Finally got it, and I'm ready to get it register and title switched to my name. Whoops, I lost the title and the register paper. I still have the receipt, and the title transfer papers, but they said I would need to get the title put in my name before I could regsiter. So while I'm in the midst of doing that, can I be arrested for expired registration? I have insurance in my name, and the receipt of purchased, but I am afraid I could be arrested. Campus cops have already threatened, but can they or local PD?

So usually I have to start my bike at night with the choke mid way, well today it would rev up to 2000-3000 rpms as usual but then it dropped to zero and cut off. After about 5 times of that happening I turned the choke all the way but it was reving up to 6000 rpms and I didn't want to pull off on that because I'm a new rider. So I ended up pushing my bike home.

What could cause this? I let the bike warm up for a few minutes before pulling off. I was able to pull off but as soon as I slowed down and pulled up to the parking lot it just cut off and wouldn't start with the choke unless it was turned all the way on. It was has about 3400 miles on it. Do I need to adjust the idle adjusting screw or synchronize the carburetors? Any help is appreciated. I only have to use the choke when its cold but this is the first time it happened where it kept shutting off.

I have a '99 silverado (new '99) and it is making a squeaking noise under the front when I am driving around 10-30 mph and then it goes away. The noise is coming from the wheels, I am thinking it is either the brake pads or retainers dragging or wheel bearings going out. Can anyone give me troubleshooting advise on this to find out what it is? How much does it take to replace the wheel bearings, does the whole hub have to be replaced costing tons of money or can just the bearings be replaced?

On putting the distributor in and setting up timing: I put it on TDC #1 compression stroke, drop in the distributor and have the rotor pointed at #1 to fire. On cranking, it backfires through the intake. Obviously the valves are opening at the wrong time. What am I missing? Any help from fellow gearheads appreciated!

I have a gallon of Simple Green and was wondering if it was good to wash cars? If it is how much should I use to dilute in the water? And also I recently polished my car but haven't waxed it and it has been raining a lot. Will the polish come off if I don't wax it?
