What should I do about my transmission jumping? 1995 GMC pu. Filter & fluid change or what?

This happens on start up after lunch sometimes and also sometimes when coming from a stop @ light, etc. Never 1st thing in the morning. Plan to have filter & fluids changed but think this is the problem?

Could just be low on fluid....Have you checked it with the engine running?

Well first thing is check the transmission oil and see if it is clear or red. from what you state in your question sounds like your truck transmission is low on oil . If the oil in the transmission is clear or redish clear yes change the fluid and filter in the transmission . I hope this helps you
