not surprising. Its very easy to sneak over the speed limit, and with all the hidden speed cameras all over the place its even easier to get caught, not that i'm defending speeding.
Luckily i am not one of those people

And did you know that everyone in France has points on their licence?
You start off with 12 points and lose them for offences.

yes i have 6 points, 2sp 30's mainly from travelling in areas I hadn't been before.
It's no suprise - but more importantly did you know 1 in 20 drivers is uninsured!? .

No I didn't but it also means 80% of drivers do not which isn't bad...
