I am saving up to get a car this christmas but i cant figure out which one to get. I really like the 08 Lancer which i think looks so cool and i heard lancers are fast but i also the the new civic or the new sentra. My friend just got a scion tc and now i want a car that looks better and is faster. I'm getting the base models though cause there cheaper and im getting a manual.(he's got an automatic) Which car should i get or should i look at different cars in the under $20,000 price range?

I'm looking to first car for myself, and I'll just say I am able to get a nice one as my first. The thing is, what people tell me, including my parents is that if I get a nice car as my first, I know I will be devastated when anything happens to it, even a minor scratch. And if I drive it improperly, hitting something, it would be expensive to repair.

But then, another part of my mind says that if I'm able to have a full license, I'm qualified enough to be a decent driver, being capable of being careful.

So I don't know what to do. Would it make sense if I got a crappy car to learn on for a year or 2, letting me make mistakes on it, and when college comes around, I get a nice car?

Does that make sense? Do other people actually do that?

Or did anyone here get a nice car as their first, and was responsible with it?

yesterday my lights where working fine on my 99 cadillac deville. sometime during the evening the back lights stopped working. i noticed this because my signal light was blinking fast like a bulb was out. all the lights in the back where out including brake and reverse lights. whats weird to me is that the bulbs work somewhat. there just very very dull. when i hit the lock button b4 yesterday the lights where a bright red now there a dull red. and the turn lights work in the back the same way u just cant see them in the day. could this still be a bulb problem or could it be more likely an electrical problem...,all the lights really work they're just very dull

Nitromethane is an additive that is used for RC planes. Alot of people use RC fuel because the Nitromethane makes the gasoline more explosive and a very noticable difference in performance and MPG.

You can get different fuels where the Nitromethane varies from 10 to 40 percent. I burned the valve guides/valves a little on my Honda Civic but just curious if anyone used it on their bike and in what concentration so not to wreck anything.

...ok, ...i should have included this info. in the first time i asked about it....as several said Oilzum isnt made anymore. It is, i had my oil changed yesterday with it. The shop owner , who is also a race car driver, tells me that oilzum is one of the best oils around, quality wise.....been around 100 years, but use to only be available for race car drivers. He is also an x state trooper, they used the oil as well, in their vehicles. Now its available for regular auto's as well. However i still am having trouble finding info on it....or at least a rather in depth history on it, ....though i've got to check out "Hemi426's " answer, thanks hemi! ....ok, either way, any other info, please share and thanks!

i have a 99 gsxr 600. i have had bad luck with getting this thing running right. i took it to a mechanic, and he just made it worse...definatly will not be going back to him, but anyways, i found a good friend who works on these bikes. had him clean and resynchronize the carbs. the bike has yoshi pipe and headers, and k&n filter. so we rejetted it to what the recommended jets are for these custom items. now i am having a problem with the bike running extremely rich, (shooting flames out the exhaust). also when i start it, the rpms stay at around 4-5k for atleast 30 seconds, and then when i mess around with the idle adjustment, it goes down. everytime i rev the bike up, the rpms stick at around 4-5k until i let out clutch. but then when coming to a stop, it will die. we replaced the needles in the carbs, and made sure it was jetted right. what could be causing this problem? any help would be great, thanks!!!
