i want to change the oxygen sensor on bank one of my toyota corolla 2000 gls vvti.

Corolla only has 4 cylinder engine,so there is no bank two,only has bank one sensor one (in front of the catalytic converter)and bank one sensor two (behind the cat.)

This is something you want to get right because Toyota will not refund your money. Some times even four cyl engines have bank one and bank two. Heres a way to tell look at the exhaust manifold and see are there two o2 sensors on top and two sensors on the bottom. Ahead of the cat converter(s) and behind. Read the trouble code carefully was that HO2S2 bank one Ot HO2S1 bank one. If the engine has two banks there will also be HO2S1 bank two and HO2S2 bank to... Mostly two bank four cyl cars are designed that way to meet SUPER LOW EMISSION STANDARD. SULEV

Oxygen sensors are under high temps. They can be hard to remove. When installing a new one coat the threads only with antisieze compound, but do not get it on the sensor itself. Threads only! It will either be on the exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe in front of the catalytic converter. I am pretty sure you only have one oxy sensor. Some V6 engines have 2.
