i have a 93 corolla, today i checked the oil and it was slightly above low mark on dip stick. i believe that on last oil change they did not put the complete quantity. how ever no engine oil or check engine light come up and i completed the quantity.
there was no loud noise or smoke either.

i think i drove around 700 KM with low oil

i just want to know that if i should worry about any thing. as there was no check engine or check oil sign.

I am going to be traveling in my truck from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Fairbanks, Alaska. How much would it cost to travel? Me and my friends are going, and how long will it take about? We'll be going straight up, like taking our time but not going west or anything.
And can you pull over anywhere on the Alcan and fish pretty much?

I was wondering if my first recall switch has gone bad, after dealer replaced it 100,000 mi or so ago. If the recall would uphold the recall the second time?

And provide me with "free" inspection of this switch...

Is Toyota an American Hoax?
Are you an Americans being completely fooled by big bad toyota? Sure they have big bold commercials and yes they maybe good at copying american truck designs (The Tundra is almost a replica of the F-150) but as for me I dont want to get dirty with toyota. Toyota represents the vehicle for modern day hippies. Not that I am against good gas mileage or anything but the American Auto-Makers offer fuel efficient machines as well. Actually ford plans on releasing a truck that gets better gas mileage then a toyota prius in 2008 it is called a hydraulic hybrid. And when it comes to dependabilty I think the American Auto-Makers stack up just as well. What Do You Think Of Toyota? Join against toyota and join this group on myspace called STEAM! I just had an intake manifold ,thermostat, and water pump replaced about 3 weeks ago my car is still running hot . There is no visual leaks I have to add water/antifreeze once a week my ac or heater does not work. You can smell antifreeze outside the car.My car was running hot before I got intake done I thought my problem was solved. My next problem is when I crank up the car it does not start up right away I have to try about 3 or 4 times . My check engine light was on I was told the code read egr had that replaced and got a tune up and still the same problem. The check engine light has gone off . Can somebody please help me. The place where I had my repairs done is acting like they don't see a problem. I took my car back there 3 times and they just keep resetting the codes.

I was curious.. curious comes with thinking. If I owned a harley:
" Do these straight pipes hurt people in the comfort of thier hard earned homes?"
"Should I watch my back for a righteous individual who may come out of nowhere and beat me up for being a jackass on a motorcycle with straight pipes?"
"I wonder why the law never stops me.."
"Am I above the law?"
"Am I too cool for my own country or what?"
"Is disturbing the peace just that... or does my leather jacket void me of all true accusations."
180 degree boxer design beats this wobbling 90 degree retard anyday.Chasing 360 is chasing 360. Like a dumb dog for his own tail.
See? if you truly think. A harley is not for you....

My girlfriend has recently had a car accident - someone run into the back of her whilst stationary at lights. Whilst her car is in for repairs her insurance comapny has supplied a hire car. Unfortunately someone has smashed the wing mirror off that car whilst it was parked outside her house (drivers side parked against pavement, someone has knocked it off whilst walking). She is now worried that she will have to pay for the damage herself, she doesn't want to inform the insurance company through fears of her premium going up.

I have tried my very best to tell her to phone the insurance company and ask what action is best, she's very stubborn and insists on getting the repairs done and paying herself.

Can anyone offer some advice and possibly back it up with fact - possibly someone who works in insurance.

Last note, its a Corsa with an electric / heated wing mirror. I estimate repair costs to be £100-130.

Thanks a lot

I want it to take up the whole entire space, and not leave and space out so it fits in perfectly. Is it possible for this to happen, and if yes, can you recommend me to a good one that matches with the interior dash and is good?..

I dont want to put a single one in there cause I dont like that empty slot ontop or bottom of the aftermarket player.
this is what i want to put in will this work?

My grandpa's neighbor bought a '01 Chevy Cavalier for his daughter before she went to college. It is now just sitting in his yard and he wants to sell it for $300 since the transmission is starting to go out. It has 200K miles on it (probably highway miles). If I replaced the transmission, would this be a good deal? I didn't know how reliable Chevy Cavaliers are...

Keep in mind that I am a college student myself in need of a car for next year. :)

I work for an auto auction delivering cars and trucks to the auction and then to dealers after the auction. Some of these vehicles are not in great shape!

The other day, a coworker was driving a Subaru outback and rear ended another car. He claims that the brakes on the car worked well until the accident. In that instance, he claims the brakes "felt" normal in that the pedal did not go to the floor but did not even slow down the car.

If my thinking is correct, it is possible that the system malfunctioned and sensed that all four wheels were locked and released (or prevented) hydraulic pressure to the brake cylinders.

Do any of you certified mechanics out there have an experience with this?
