My advice is to not even look at the milage. Much more important is the condition of the car and how well it has been cared for. Not knowing anything about cars, means that it is very important that you get any car you are interested in checked out my a professional third party. if you don't know the seller don't trust their word (buying and selling cars is a licence to lie)

An older car with very few miles on it may have had the odometer replaced or 'adjusted'. or there might be very good reason why nobody drove it very far.

As in how many miles are on the odometer? Or as in what kind of fuel mileage?
