i'm 15 and 5 months and i'm getting really serious about college and driving and this summer i'm taking driver's ed. my mom and i are debating on cars right now. i was looking for something that handles well, is good on gas, and well- up to date at least, and i like suv's. what cars are good for a first car?

I am replacing my stock speakers in my Buick century with higher quality after market speakers. The front doors are 5 1/4 inch speakers and the rear deck holds 6x9 inch speakers. I am replacing both with Polk audio 5 1/4's and 6x9's. Altogether I'm paying about $170.00 an I'm buying from www.crutchfield.com. I have heard that these speakers sound a lot better with an amplifier powering them. I don't know much about amplifiers so I would like to know what would be a good, reasonably priced amplifier to power these speakers with.

Can someone buy a used car while being on social security? This car is for 9,000 paid with a credit card. My mom's freind is completly freaked out..He is on social security, ownes his home and he just bout a used car. He did not think about it when he purchased the car until later. He thinks his benifits are going to be taken away. he paid it with a master card. Is this true? Can someone give me advise so I can forward it to him.

I have an almost brand new Nissan X-Trail 2.2 dci Columbia. It is in 2 wheel drive for about 360 days of the year, but has the ability to switch itself to 4x4 should it detect wheel spin. In effect it is a 2 wheel drive estate car.
How much tax will I pay as I am not sure whether it comes under the heading of "4x4 gas guzzler" as it does about 48 mpg diesel? Will I be penalised for having a car with such a good safety feature?
I need it living up here in the Highlands.

I have a 2001 Accent, and the car bucked really hard and the light came on..I took it to the dealer and they said there wasnt anything wrong...I mustve hit ice. I have never heard of this, and I think they are bsing me; they just put the tranny in it less than 20,000 miles ago. Any ideas on how I can make the gears shift more smoothly?

I was driving to canada from DC and received a speeding ticket 82/65 in NY close to Quebec border, first one in 11 years of driving. The officer told me that I would receive the amount of the fine later fixed by the judge which in fact I received 205$ and paid it. 3 months later I receive a driver assessment responsibility stating I got 6 points and have to pay 300$ for the same fine. I did not know I was getting points , is it too late to fight it? This obviously upsetting to me because I could have gone to court if I knew I was getting 6 points even though it was 500 miles away from my home.

over 250 dollars.. and i dont want cheap stuff.. just 1 single 8" sub and 2 6x9's and 2 6.5s .. a maybe 400 watt amp.. and a decent head.. wat would you recommend to stay under 250 to 300 dollars? not going for loud bass just good sound inside.. and a little boom from the 8 in the trunk.

Last month I got my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500-serviced at mechanic. He told me I needed new brakes soon but b/c of financial reasons I haven't got them fixed. They've been fine up until recently when I noticed-when pressing on brake it made a screeching/grinding nose from front. Also, my left front tire is emitting a rusty color debris-which I think my be from brakes? I know I need to get them fixed, but do you think I can drive with them for a little longer?
