I purchased a motorcycle with no title I called CT DMV and they said they show no previous title or reg on the vin# for the bike so how do I get a title to register it,or find out the original owner?

contact the manufacturer to give you the details of the vin. They will be able to tell you when and where it was made and be able to tell you the original dealer that it was sent to.
While I was in the military, stationed in Belgium, I purchased a vehicle, had it shipped over there, drove it for two years with a SHAPE Military license plate, had insurance, the whole nine yards, and when I brought it back to the states, I traded it in, and the dealership told me that it never had a title on it or was registered. I showed them the proof and moved on. It could be that the bike over sold overseas, and hence wouldn't have a US title from any state.

Your state may be different so check with the courthouse where titles are issued.

But here in Wyoming you can get an abandoned vehicle title. You must have the VIN inspected by a cop. Then you take a photo of the bike (car) to the county courthouse.

They attempt to contact the previous owner by whatever means they do this. If they fail, you must put an advertisement in the newspaper announcing your intentions of claiming the bike as an abandoned vehicle.

This gives the previous owner the opportunity of reclaiming his bike (for a fat storage fee, plus costs of any work, parts, court fees, ad in newspaper, etc....this is usually way more than the bike would be worth BTW). Then after some waiting period (I forget how long), you get a title.

Then you can get tags, etc. This process takes several weeks...and I'm sure you are probably aware that they basically take their own sweet time about it.

Some states have a process called "Sheriff's Title". Wyoming doesn't, but I think it's a similar idea as the abandoned vehicle title.

Anyhow, check with your courthouse (or wherever you get titles).
